It’s pretty dreary today, can imagine zombies shambling down my street on a day as crappy as today.

Survival Pack now available for the PC. Just launch the game from Steam; it’ll autoupdate.

updating now

Time to fight for our right to survive!

Awesome, tonight’s late game is going to be fun. Hopefully we can find a dedicated server for survival if not at least we can use wise’s for some DT, DA fun.

Since I can’t check it now, I heard a rumor that new achievements were added for the DLC, is that true?

8 new ones, which basically amount to "get gold/silver/bronze medals on all 16 survival maps. I hate waiting for my L4D expert team to get done with their day… 16 all zombie brutally hard maps waiting!!!

Of course right when I get a chance to play I have to leave. Hopefully i will be on tonight.

For the lazy.

I will not be on tonight, unfortunately. I absolutely must be packed and ready to start moving by Friday.

Got Gold medal on one of the easier Survival maps. It is a very intense experience. Looking forward to the other maps.

The leaderboards on the 360 version already show crazy times, people surviving for hours on some of the maps - while not surprising, it’s pretty impressive that people have already put that much time into them, even if it is time spent wedged in a corner where the AI can’t get to you.

I should be ready to play some in about an hour.

man… survival mode is GOD DAMN AWESOME! we can’t last 3 minutes on last stand…

Only played Last Stand so far. Lasted til 3:30ish with the Gamers with Jobs folks. Most of having never played the map yet, we started in the generator room until the tank then moved up to the roof and fought up there until each of us got picked off mostly by smokers pulling us down or by tanks punting us into the sea.

I just finished a survival game on Dead Air - The Terminal, where a team of pubs lasted nearly 14 minutes (Gold!).

We hid under the dark open portion of the baggage claim, and it was easy peasy. Contributing factors to success:

  1. I was shooting tanks from Nebraska. They take forever to run across the terminal, so they’re half dead once they reach you.
  2. I think some of the special infected spawned in up top, and got themselves trapped every so often.
  3. Ammo is stupidly close, and there’s really no danger running to refuel. As a consequence, you can waste bullets like they’re candy.

Delicious zombie killing candy.

If you’re the type who’s gotta catch 'em all, play The Terminal before it’s patched.

Nearly 12 minutes on the Farm House. We left the barn and moved to the house to get more med packs at around 8 minutes. After reaching 10 minutes we sorta tried to get back to the barn but got ganked as soon as we left the house after the tanks arrived.

Great time tonight with lazy, noou and EFG. The street is most likely one of the easiest maps in survival. Last Stand was really fun so many spots to defend from and smokers are lethal.

I do hope that Valve will get to work on new vs campaigns, especially fleshing out Last Stand hopefully.

survival is CRAZY! played through a few of them- and have not golded a single one: using a team of 4 of us I consider elite- we beat all campaigns on expert with no retries just last week. First thing we learned was that tanks are easy to take out, and molotovs are reserved for zombies.

last stand: 6:17 first time playing, bunch of fun on the top of the lighthouse.
Blood harvest warehouse: 6 min < crazy- hid on the rafters in the corner for the entire fight, but a smoker ended our box.

Death Toll: The Church- around 9 mins, but when all of the smokers we havent been killing came around the corner it was over.

No Mercy Gas Station ~8- Most fun by far, run across to the room when you hit the button and you can hide upstairs while fighting off the mobs easily, but then francis fell down the hole, we jumped in after him… and so did the tanks. After surviving that he decided it was time for an ammo run- ran out of the room and promptly died. And then a tank killed us.

After thinking the survivor mode would be cheesy- just infinite crescendo events- it ended up being a blast. Only thing it is missing is the frantic running from place to place that made the zombie mobs so fun.

Next time try Death Toll - The Street. Jab, NOOU, LSB and I survived 15 minutes there.

Sucks I couldn’t join in. Seems like so often when I have time a game just starts. Then there are never any open spots until hours later.

Anyone with an ATI card having an issue in which L4D tells you that your videocard driver is out of date despite verifying that you do have the most current driver installed? (I can still play the game as well as before, but the warning popup before the game starts is annoying.) L4D is the only game in my Steam queue that is doing this now.
