Yeah, I got that error as well. I checked the box to “Don’t display this message again”. Dunno what the problem is.
Yes. Are you running Windows 7?

Survival is not going to replace Versus for me. It’s ok but the fact that it is just going to be about adding an extra second or two to your time isn’t all that appealing to me. I’d rather play Versus where you can win it.
I am disappointed with the middle Death Toll Versus maps, too. All those high roofs and the Hunters can’t stand on them :(. Boo!
Still, the game is a lot of fun and I am just nitpicking mostly. I look forward to discovering all the good smoker spots on the new maps.
Let’s get some games set up tonight folks! I got a re-zombie-killin’ hankerin’ again.

Map1 Of death tool…er Toll.
First choke point is the ladder. Had a wipe there.
in the tunnel- there are great spots overhead for infected.
Map2: Right outside the door are two ledges, We puut the boomer above the door with a hunter, and the smoker on the one left of the door with the machenery with another hunter. I’ve now wiped two teams with this setup. Of course this wont work tonight…
Map 3: The trainyard-that is 3 right? at the begining behind the red traincar there is an awesome smoker spot- soft cover of a tree- and hard cover of some rail stuff.
At the end of the train yard when the survivors are crossing the building to the next part, if you look down in the yard there is a big fir tree- awesome smoke spot- I watched someone pull 7 people there last night. It was pretty impressive.
I dont remember anymore. at the moment.
Nope. Windows Vista 32.
I hunted around on the Valve forums. Other people have gotten it. I guess it’s a fairly common error that affects nothing within the game, so it’s not a high priority.
Best time: 5 minutes 30 seconds, in the generator room, with Zoey, Francis and Bill (actually it was humans but I forgot the name of one of the four so I won’t write the others so i don’t offend the person I forgot!) So much fun dying. We must have played that 8 times before changing maps.
We enthusiastically enter the helipad. Yes! I so totally know this map, we can handle a few tanks. First horde, down, first tank, minigunned down. Smooth as a baby’s unsoiled bottom.
I change my name to Aretha Franklyn, that’s how good I feel about this. Then a few smoker pulls, hordes, boomers. Tanks. I get flying lessons, but I FORGOT MY BUNGEE CORD.
Try 2. I get flying lessons again.
Ok, so we’ll hide in a little corner, how about under the helipad? Can’t get smoked there. Still died. Must try again. Must kill zombies. Must survive.

We managed a silver medal run on that horde spot in NM2 last night. It was pretty freaking epic!
We were gatting the first couple of waves to save ammo and health, then jumping down the hole and lighting a gas can behind us to survive a little longer. The dual tanks are a bitch to deal with, but lots of running and gunning seems to take them down.
NM roof is so frustrating. You can be doing really well and then a tank touches you once and you’re done because, whoops, you fell off a goddamn roof.

I made it 8:30 or so on BH2 (The warehouse one, not sure the number) we hunkered in the middle, where there are boxes against the wall and a little nook to hide in. Ammo in the center of the room, and we stayed disciplined about not going out solo. This was with pubs, so if we can get us uber folks together and have some distance to the tank spawn for long range work, I think we can make a good go of it.

I urge you and anyone else on here to jump into the QuarterToThree - Left4Dead chat channel. If you’re not in the group, message anyone in the group for an invite.
You can also just jump in the chat as a guest if you want. The only perks of being a member are a) events will pop-up on your screen and b) it will add you to the list of people we spam-vite when we need a couple more people to fill a game.
Hehe, I was there. :) Yeah, rough night, although Bronze in Generator Room doesn’t seem too bad. I got better times last night on some other maps but have not gone back to Generator Room yet. The street map with forklift and minigun seemed much easier and my group ended up getting gold, somewhere in the 10 minute range (11 tanks!)
ANyway, looking forward to more Survivor!
I WILL SURVIVE! As long as I know how to hide, I know I will survive!! I’ve got all my life to lose, I’ve got all my … um … I don’t remember the rest. Isn’t that an 80’s song? Ouch. I shouldn’t even remember that much!
This may have been discussed or obvious, but: now that the official versus maps are for Death Toll and Blood Harvest (?) released, are those taking the place of the unofficial ones on the QT3 server? For some reason I didn’t want to download the unofficial maps, so I haven’t been able to play versus on that server.
Just pulled 7:30 on the church. Almost too easy- I’m sure with a few more playthroughs breaking 10:00 won’t be that hard.

The official Death Toll and Dead Air (not BH) maps have indeed taken the place of the unofficial maps, and Wisefool has updated his private server. The unofficial maps pre-patch were never required to actually play versus on that server, assuming you were just playing No Mercy and Blood Harvest.
IMO, Valve dropped the ball on Death Toll. A shame too, since Dead Air opened up a ton of hunter spots, while DT locks off the building rooftops in almost every single spot in the campaign.
My mouse wrist is killing me because of survival mode. Non stop action for 10-15 minutes is bringing the RSI back in full force :(

Ibuprofen, take 800mg three times a day. Trust me.

Interesting, even with the roofs blocked off, Death Toll is brutal as survivors.
Great game last night…real even until the last 2 levels.
Dead Air is going to be a new favorite for me…

Bah, I managed to tip over a glass of water on my desk, had to yank out cords to save everything. I hope my leaving wasn’t what tipped the scales, it was very even until then.
