He’s made too many enemies for that to work.

Reading this back I can sort of believe it. I mean his father was mayor and New York politics has always been a cutthroat business.

I’m not a NY political junkie, but other people are.
That said, this feels legitimate. And Cuomo also killed a bunch of people, so this is like Capone’s taxes for me.
I’m so glad Nina Turner lost. She has one political interest in the entire world, and it can be best accessed for her when she looks in a mirror.
Also this:
I saw that about the pictures and thought “That just seems weird to me…”
And then I saw this tweet and laughed out loud.

I’m not a fun of Turner. I don’t want random bomb-throwers, I want folks who are more like AOC and will stand on principle and understands when it’s time to make a point and when it’s time to play good soldier.
An example of this : Biden’s actions and quick reversal on the eviction moritorium. That was largely due to the squad not playing good soldier and putting pressure on BIden. I guarantee none of the Clyburn faction would do that, and as evictions fall disproportionately on minorities.
The left does have huge issue with much of the Congressional Black Caucus though, as they feel the CBC advocates hard for centrists and attacks folks who threaten the status quo.
That said, my litmus test for any Dem candidate right now is their support of voting rights and removing the filibuster for Senators. That’s it. Nothing I want is going to have any chance of happening until we do this, so that’s the only thing I care about electorally. I can put up with folks being not as left as I like as long as they are willing to do what it takes to stop fascism.
For example, in the NC Senate race- I’m supporting Jackson in the primary, but that’s an electability issue primarily, Beasley might be a bit more left, but Jackson has a much better shot of winning, and since they’ve both pledged in the strongest terms to kill the filibuster I’m ok with either one.
Cunningham did the same so I held my nose for him, despite liking Erika Smith a lot better in 2020. I was willing to sell out my ideals just to win. I knew Erika Smith was going to lose.
This is part of why Nina Turner was hated by the establishment, though I do think Turner didn’t help herself at all with her bomb-throwing.

Not sure if this belongs here or in the COVID thread, but the article is a good rundown of the pretzel teachers unions are putting themselves in over vaccinations.

They are not the only union objecting to vaccine mandates.

Unions never like to give something away for nothing. They feel like it encourages more of the same later on, even if it makes sense.

Unions also don’t like management telling them what their “people” have to do, even if it is the right thing.

More stuff on hunter from that bastion of conservative propaganda…Vox.
Yes, this is indeed liberals doing stupid shit. Even in the most placid of times politicians and their families should try to be above reproach, e.g. the Obamas. But for Hunter Biden to do this now, when we’re dealing with the threat of a genuine fascist movement, and when the right wing propaganda machine already has its eyes and its guns on him, is just dumb as shit. I really hope that extra half-million was worth it dude.
The President needs to lock his failson in the Presidential bunker for the next 5-10 years so he can’t do any more damage.
