No, I will not buy all of these. And I will definitely not get around to playing all of the ones I do buy. But that doesn’t mean I don’t WANT THEM ALL.
See other thread where I pointed out how these alone are like 5x - 10x as many games as I could ever actually play.
What the fuck would I do with a PS3? Collect dust with it? Really, really, really fucking expensive dust? Because Christ knows I’ve ALREADY got more games than I can play, let alone all these OTHER games I want!
If you added the PS3 games that I want to that list, it would grow by maybe only five games or so, e.g. about 8%. $500+ for 8% more fun = LOSE. Hell, even $200 for +8% fun is not exactly a win.
Lair, Unreal Tournament, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Haze, and Ratchet are going to be good exclusives for the PS3 this fall/winter. Yes, there are too many games on the 360 and PC and DS for you or me to really be able to catch up with everything, but that’s always a problem for hardcore gamers. I stopped trying to buy everything and ran to Gamefly.
Well that’s the thing. If you don’t own either a PS3 or 360 there’s starting to be reasons to buy a PS3 this fall. But if you already own a 360, it’s hard to justify getting a PS3 as well as there are so many damn games coming out for the 360.
This is Sony’s own fault for a lot of reasons. They could better push the PS3 by never running a Blu-Ray commercial without throwing in a “also plays on PS3” bit, for example.
Me too. Playing Persona 2 in preparation for Persona 3.
I thought Silent Hill 4 was a disappointment, but I can’t help but get excited about Silent Hill 5 going next-gen. I can’t even wrap my brain around the craziness Akira Yamaoka and company will be able to inflict upon us with today’s hardware.
Although maybe they’ll find a way to make it suck harder than ever. Who knows with this series anymore.
“Too much stuff coming out” – that’s kind of why I keep this list. Yeah, there’s more stuff than I can play. But knowing what it all is, seeing it all in one place, lets me prioritize better.
Narrowing down that list to just the must-plays, it’s probably Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, Halo 3, and Hellgate: London. Shit, those five games alone are going to be epic. I can’t entirely believe they’re all hitting in the next four months! PSYCHE!
And God knows I’d rather have too much stuff to play than too little :-D Too much stuff to play – that’s a problem I hope never, ever goes away, even if I someday retire and get to spend 30+ hours a week gaming!
For me, the Must-Have list of five would be Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, GTA IV and Mercenaries II. Just that alone is an insane amount of gaming. Epic stories and open worlds - I’m^H^H^Hmy free time is doomed.
Pretty solid list Repo, though I’d suggest maybe waiting on Dark Messiah, since rumor has it there’s going to be a 360 version with substantial changes.
