This was in early access so long that it has a 4-pack, and it looks very interesting.
LUFTRAUSERS-like 2D arcade flight combat. Screen shake can be adjusted or disabled.
Is that what a German does when he doesn’t have a belt?
Thank you. Don’t forget next weekend I’ll be at Unkle Chukles opening for my good friend and comedy legend, Gallagher!
Huntdown is out, it’s very good so far. It’s a 16bit platform shooter, more Shinobi than Contra, in an 80s Cyberpunk setting.

I’m pretty tired of 80smania, but that looks cool.

Valken does seem pretty different to Leynos/Gunhound. The latter remind me of Contra, whereas the former seems quite a bit more free-roaming.
Looks like Prison Architect or Rimworld… in spaaaaaaace!
Oooh nice find, wishlisted!
Out today, a “deck-building narrative game about relationships and communication.” Who says decks can only be used for spire-slaying??
Here’s a new thing… a deck-builder roguelike!
It’s a slightly different take on things and is worth checking out. I watched a Let’s Play with Splattercat linked below. He noted that with the proliferation of roguelike deckbuilders we all roll our eyes when a new one comes out but by the end of the video below it had won him over. Take that for what you will.
Been talking about this one in the deckbuilders thread (though I think it deserves its own). While there are a bunch of deckbuilders in the works, many of them arguably StS clones, Monster Train is perhaps the most unique we’ve seen, IMO (way beyond slightly different). It’s almost like the essence of a deckbuilder distilled down into a small number of boss fights with greater card customization and accelerated deck customization. There’s also the fact that most units can only be summoned once per fight. But even beyond that, it has the flavor of a tower defense with multiple lanes and the Pyre you have to protect at the top of the train.
Btw, there’s a demo available on Steam. It only had two factions (of 5) available, but will definitely give you the feel of the full game, I think.
This looks great.
Although there’s “only” 220 cards. Not sure how many cards are needed to make things work. But 220 cards among 5 factions is around 44 cards per faction. Slay the Spire has 350+ cards for 3+1 heroes.
Edit: Also no steamworks =(. Mods are great, more developers need to support mods.
Keep in mind you use two factions at a time, one primary (which determines which champion unit you have) and one secondary. You also have the ability to mod cards with more flexibility. For instance, you can make spells stronger, or lower their cost, or cause then to return to the top of the deck. With units, you can add sweep to hit all units, quick to attack first, or incant effects that trigger armor or health, etc whenever a spell is used on their row.
I tried the demo, was very fun!
The “green your environment […] bring back biodiversity” interests me. The single review, which is negative, does not!
The reviewer refunded after 11 minutes because the escape button doesn’t back out of a menu? Opinion to be taken with grain of salt, I think. Game looks interesting though, an anti city builder.
It was the totality of the lack of feedback, not the details of the one review.
It certainly looks interesting, and its certainly not expensive, but I have an expansive backlog already. I need something to convince me this is worth adding to said backlog :)

There are two reviews! Someone with 3.6hrs of playtime says, “Es ist ein tolles Spiel mit viel potenzial nach oben.”
Na dann bin ich überzeugt!

Mecha 3D fighter, like Virtual On.
Magic casual EDF-like shooter/ARPG.
I bought the OBEY bundle and played with some friends. We had a great time. It’s not entirely well explained, but the community is friendly and helpful (and devious). Launch sale ends Tuesday the 19th.
