Neat, thank you.

I bought it on sale in Nov 2017 for $5, but only played ~7 hours as a Warlock to level 18 (not sure what build, the skill tree has been reset). I didn’t love it (maybe stayed on normal difficulty too long), but it’s decent for $10, very no-nonsense design, and I’m sure my impressions are cursory and outdated. The developer did say the price is going to increase, and it’s $14 on Humble already.

Wait - you can see your gear?? for some reason I thought you couldnt. If my guy looks cooler as I get better gear - now I’m interested!

Full controller support!

Thanks, I’m buying it. :)

I bought it as well. It looked like fun and is on sale for something like $8.99 for the next day before the price jumps.

I created a Warlock and he’s level 12, currently. I must say the game is a lot of fun. And they certainly don’t stint on the loot. I’ve gotten some interesting stuff so far. The best is a legendary 12 slot bag worth 92,000 (of whatever the game’s monetary unit is). Glad I grabbed this, it’s really polished.

How long did you end up playing? I picked this up for cheap last sale and played for a couple hours and made it to level 10 or 11. I really enjoyed it up to that point, but it feels like each level starts taking much longer. I know we can go back and optimize our old production to take advantage of new unlocks to get the upgrades faster, but it still takes too long to keep my attention. The basic game play is pretty good though, I just have a problem with the pacing.

I got to level 15. It is cool, but it gets repetitive after a while. In addition to leveling up, you also want to upgrade your techs, so there are at least multiple things to work on at any given time. I mean, the other goal is to not make a factory that looks like a bowl of badly deformed spaghetti, but that goal always eluded me.

Tunnels were a great boon for trying to maintain some organization, but yeah, my factory was a mess. I’m probably done for a while, but fun while it lasted.

After about 5 hours, that was ultimately my issue as well.

Mechajammer, formerly known as Copper Dreams, is a sci-fi RPG that closely resembles the style of the Bullfrog Syndicate games. I backed the Kickstarter back in 2016, so I’m happy to see signs of life.

Apparently there is a big update in the works for shapez.io, all about ‘wires’ and ‘signals’ and making logic circuits and whatnot. I can’t imagine any possible reason why I would want to mess with that, but who knows, maybe somebody does.

I started giving Factorio a try now that it hit 1.0. That should keep me busy for a while :-)
It will probably either get too difficult to manage all the moving parts or I’ll get tired of it. I did play the first several tutorial missions and had fun with those. I’m going to give sandbox a try next.

All I’m saying is if the word mecha is part of your game’s name it should have some mecha in it.

Lol! I don’t know why they dropped Copper Dreams in the first place. Such an evocative title.

I was in the beta for Roll and didn’t like it nearly as much as Race. Picked up Prime Mover, though, thanks!

What didn’t you like about it? RftG never grabbed me, so I might have the opposite reaction.

I don’t know exactly. I thought that because I’d played Race quite a bit I’d pick it up really fast, but it just seemed confusing and unclear what I was supposed to be doing. I didn’t really stick with it, though, so it’s very much a first impression sort of thing. The whole dice manipulation aspect just didn’t grab me, cycling them from cards to reserve to active (forget the terms) and I generally like dice games.

I don’t know if this is “worth knowing about” as my reaction was

If you play all the way through it, you unlock new game plus, in which you’re seated next to Liam Neeson and he’s an air marshal.
