Sword and Sword just didn’t have the same ring. They were mostly about “fighters” or “barbarians”, wizards were never the lead. Only the weird kid wanted to be a wizard ;)
Edit: I wish listed Sword And Sandals. It does look like fun.
That was the polite term. Thanks to the casting and costuming, in some circles they were known as “tits and togas” movies.
Someone should absolutely develop a game with that name.
Sounds like a match-3 you’d find on steam, unfortunately
Kadobat Wars has been on my wishlist since it came out, thanks for the writeup. Sounds silly and fun!
I have a feeling if this game is for you, you’ll know from this video. (Via a PC Gamer list @lordkosc posted.)

Hah that is awesome. Needs more views and comments!
@lordkosc turned me on to this game, which is a new game from the fine fellow who made the original Kingdom. It’s weird and rough (early access) and the very early experience isn’t a good tutorial or a good indicator of what the later game is like. But after 15-20 minutes I found myself grokking it and really enjoying the chill, open-ended thing this game has going.
You are basically given a series of diorama scenes and you go back and forth between placing plant sprouts in the scene and placing other junk objects. The junk causes nearby plants to grow, and the plants sometimes grow fruit, which you gather to earn more seeds. You have to cover some amount of the scene with plants in order to move on to the next scene.
I’m not a programmer, but the tech that makes the vines climb around on the dynamic scenery seems pretty impressive. Most scenes end up looking amazing, and they’re totally unique to you and how you dropped things into the world.

I briefly dabbled with it when it hit Early Access but wanted to leave it longer before returning. It seemed promising and very relaxing!
Guuuuuuuuuuuuysssss-uh! An indie game worth dabbling with is definitely WORTH KNOWING ABOUT (PROBABLY)! Don’t you know that a forum thread title is implicitly a moral obligation??
This doesn’t even have a name yet, and may not even turn into a game but this is a real promising start to something.
What if Marble Madness, but the marbles are packing?
That actually looks pretty great.
FTL-inspired Japanese fantasy strategy game, found via Buried Treasures.

Just have to point that is Japanese themed fantasy, and not Japanese (and that, as a pedant, watching this game being played the other day made me grind my teeth in the usual manner).
Yes, thanks for clarifying.

Oh, yeah, I played this game all the time when I was a kid. It was a family event.
Why are none of my steam friends playing? Playing it solitaire isn’t much fun (although the game lets you!)
In case it isn’t clear from the Steam link above, this is FREE.
Edit: Ha, I was looking at all the different card backs you can use, each of which features a different Zachtronics game. Then I read that those card backs are only unlocked if you own the related game! I had them all unlocked except Molek-Syntez. There isn’t one for Mobius Front!
