That was my exact thought as well! Except that I’m more of a #TeamToby guy.

FYI, basically every indie game on PS4 is on sale right now.

I had Tainted Grail sitting in my library from backing the board game. I finally gave it a go now that it officially launched, and unpopular opinion but it really didn’t do much for me.

It seems super unpolished, compared to something slick like Monster Train. Everything is clunky, playing a card has no real visual/audible impact, and basic stuff like changing the GUI scale breaks the display of reward items (and the text is still too small).

And that tutorial enemy… thousands of hp, forced to slog through the same couple of things over and over.

I’m assuming it gets a lot better given the love shown here but man… bad first impressions.

How can you play it from your iPad?

(nevermind the default Mac text of the silly unified Apple store)

Agreed, a film is either a Toby Jones film or a Noby Jones, preference is always on the former.

You should watch the new film he is in called First Cow, i think you’ll enjoy it.

Toby Jones is brilliant and all but I was alluding more to Crook writing and directing the show!

With the steam link app? Works great with anything that is left click dominated. Monster Train is a game I played that way a ton.

At any rate, I don’t think I did do that with the slipways demo, s it would take some finagling with the steam interface to define some keys you would need.

Thanks sir!

El Paso Elsewhere, a retro third-person shooter that looks like Max Payne in a lo-fi Control-like world:

First Cow might be minor Reichart, but it’s peak Jones! One of the awesome things about Jones is how well he fits into period pieces ranging from First Cow to Captain America to Atomic Blonde. Toby Jones is timeless!

Ah, I might not have known that! Or if I did, I forgot. That’s pretty impressive coming from someone who I had only known as a clown from The Office, a bit character in a dumb Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and someone who had an awesome ability he never really got to use in Game of Thrones.

Regardless, The Detectorists is great and it’s the only reason that Magnificent Trufflepigs looks interesting to me. At which point I lose interest because it doesn’t have Toby Jones or Mackenzie Crook. Or Diana Riggs lovely daughter.

Oh wow I didn’t know that but I can totally see the likeness now!

Yeah, that’s what struck me about the show, it being about metal detectorists and actually good, but also… wait, written and directed by Crook? We watched his take on strange olde time British kid’s show Worzel Gummidge and while obviously aimed at kids, I felt it had a similar spirit to Detectorists and a big heart.

Wait what? What’s going on here? Info please.

I’ve just played and finished this - it’s short, maybe a couple of hours long, which is perfect for something like this. Quite charming, I enjoyed the acting and the gentle narrative, and the setting is beautiful.

(and hello to Jason Isaacs!)

A fact that will only be interesting to me - but a fact nevertheless! - one of my best friends at high school is now her brother-in-law.

I got this reference!

I don’t understand anything ;(

Don’t forget Stephen Fry and Fairport convention.

Does it make a difference which tier one backed the game at?

I can’t find anything in my emails or pledge manager about it.
