I mentioned it in the kickstarter thread, and i think it sounds awesome enough to deserve a spot here in this thread too.

Something from RPS about it here:
P.S. I have no idea what this game is about, but it looks and sounds kinda cool.
I’m playing the just released Extrasolar. It’s a browser based adventure / alternate reality game.

It has some pretty cool rendering technology going on behind the scenes as explained by the developers in this interview:
Looks like they’re not accepting new players at the moment. I tried to sign up and it said there are “No available rovers.” Looks very cool, though! Be interested to hear what your experience are with the game.
EDIT: Ooooooor maybe not. I just got an in-character email saying “i can get you in.” The plot thickens! Clever!
Same thing happened to me just now;). Pretty funny. I like love it when game devs do that shit.
Yeah, it’s their “verify new account” process, but it’s all done in-fiction.
Yep they got me with that one to. So far the game is pretty cool. It has been some sort of a story driven exploration game so far. Not many real obstakels but I like how different this thing is from anything else out there.
HK action movies + Hotline Miami + bullet time + wildly exaggerated visual effects: Hong Kong Massacre
When you included Hotline Miami I wasn’t even going to look at it because I instantly thought UGLY. That didn’t look bad though.
Miegakure, a platform/puzzle type game that seems to have some good things said about it:
Echo of the winds looks and sounds lovely:

RPS stuff on it here:
Looks great. I’m a bit of a fan of HK blood opera style movies. I think the best ‘simulation’ of these are the Action-Quake/HL games and the HL mod The Specialists.
And some more details on that pretty looking Echo of the Winds (from RPS again):
Mentioned it in the Kickstarter thread, but wanted to put the RPS link about it here, a new game called ‘Spirit’:
The Curious Expedition:
I don’t like the people-sprite style here. I see it in a lot of modern games that are attempting retro or easy-to-make graphics, yet I never remember seeing it when I was playing games many years ago. Worst of all is it massively contrasts with the amount of detail they’ve put into the crab. I blame the super brothers or whatever they’re called.
