Uh, how is this first time?
She got tossed in jail for violating her parole: specifically she got pulled over twice with a suspended license and never attended her (BS) alcohol treatment course. The fact that she showed up late and her mom kept making cat-calls at the prosecutor and the judge? Probably didn’t help either.
The article I read didn’t make that clear. It’s probation though, not parole.
Second time caught with a court history is jail. Everyone else goes. I wasn’t aware of her extensive history.
The long national nightmare is finally over.
A basic pleasure model.
None of the articles really make it all that clear, which is why I read like five fucking articles about this shit just to figure out what she did. But, yeah, suspended license and probation after a DUI, she never went to her alkie class, gets pulled over in January and the cop lets her off with a warning after making her sign a statement that she was aware her license was suspended, gets pulled over again and claims (now) that she thought she could drive for work purposes. The paperwork she had in the glove compartment at the time (no, really) stated otherwise.
So, now secure in the knowledge that my glee is not only malicious but also righteous, allow me to state, in no uncertain terms, HAW HAW.
Paris Hilton is no Daryl Hannah. She’s a very basic pleasure model, at best. She’s like the AMC Gremlin of pleasure models.
Hilton looked forward and didn’t speak to news media as she left court with her mother.
When a reporter asked what she thought of the judge’s decision, a visibly angry Kathy Hilton responded: “What do you think? This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke.”
Along with Paris and her sister being a pox on this country, this is another reason I will never stay in a Hilton Hotel or use anything Hilton affiliated. It’s pathetic people continue to support these jerks.
I had thought probation violations were not appealable, but her attorney said he’s going to appeal so I must be mistaken. Either way, though, it’s no secret that in LA most people serve only a fraction of their jail terms, because the jails are so overcrowded. Unfortunately for Paris Hilton, the LASD just started a real crackdown on it, though. Things had gotten really slack – you’d hear stories about people sentenced to 60 days in jail going down there, getting processed, and going home that same night. I believe there was some negative press coverage, and just a few months ago the sheriffs said they were going to make everyone serve (IIRC) at least half their time. Although I have no idea how they plan on actually pulling that off.
What’s interesting about this is that the Paris case will be so closely followed by the media that there will be all sorts of questions raised if she is released early. If her being released early due to overcrowding were to shine an embarrassing spotlight on that problem, maybe that means the authorities are more likely to make sure she serves her full stretch?

I did some checking – they’re actually going to make people serve 25% of their time, not half. Here’s a story from the LA Times (may require registration) about the crackdown. Among other things, the story says before the crackdown (11/06), the jail was “immediately releasing anyone sentenced to 90 days or less,” and people with longer sentences were serving 10% of their time. So Paris would have been in and out in an hour. Now, she’s looking at a week and a half in jail.
And because of this new policy, spending a week and a half in county jail is no picnic:
That’s from an ACLU press release dated April 24, 2007. Of course, Paris Hilton won’t be going to MCJ, but still.
Haha!
Remember Paris, I defended you. I’ll wait for you.
Jesus. I wouldn’t fuck her with a stolen dick. The BEST you can hope for is herpes.
The BEST i can hope for is money.
Har har, my plans are coming to fruition nicely. First the disintegration of Britney Spears, now Paris Hilton. How much would her jail time increase if she, say, killed another inmate?..
It sounds like you have a plan. IM me.
Which means she’s fair game for the statistical 20% of male QT3 members who are genital herpes carriers. Lucky guys. This mission, if you choose to accept it, requires you to post an after action report in the appropriate thread.
Your ridiculously circuitous plan is one-quarter complete!
So you’re trying to say that celebrities get away with this shit less than normal people (since 'bags was comparing Hilton to normal people)?
Even if you’re going off on a tangent, are there any kind of stats on this or is it just anecdotal “rich non-famous people get away with it because there’s no media focus and no reason to make them examples”?
I wonder if a rich, twenty-something, non-famous woman would have gone unpunished if she’d skipped the court ordered alcohol alcohol treatment class, been pulled over twice while her license was suspended, and had family members in court shooting their mouth off.
Celebrities might get away with shit less often than rich non-famous people, but that’s like saying NHL/hockey players get less tail than NBA/baseketball players. It might be true, but it’s still more than even ElGuapo gets (probably).
