I dunno, there were 68 people in Breeland tonight (Wednesday) at 7 PM EST, and I saw quite a few players in MM and LL when I was farming hides as well. This on Nimrodel which is not one the more populous servers. I’ve been seeing more players lately than pre-Mirkwood. Maybe Turbine is right, and the player base is growing.

Try EQ2 for comparison. I d/l the 2-week trial, got a froglok monk up to around 15th level, and never once saw another player in Antonica.

I am currently leaning towards subscribing, not so much for this as a game-qua-game, but because I kinda like the idea of having a Shire Virtual Reality Simulator at my beck and call.

Another come back for the weekend weekend, today through Monday. Looking forward to checking in with my little minstrel dude.

From Turbine’s info e-mail on the upcoming Book 3:

“Solo the entire Volume I epic story line – newly revised and re-balanced!”

this is great news.

Today marks one year since Tom originally proposed our little Monday night romp in Middle Earth. It seems that there are only three of us still sticking to it regularly. I, for one, am still having a great time and I’m really enjoying the various spaces in Moria. Arctangent, Sidd Budd, and I all hit 54 last night on our toons. Not bad for mostly one night a week. Hope to see more of you in game soon.

I am going to try to join up with you starting this Monday. I can make the EST starting time (if it is still 7 EST) at least until the next DST time change occurs. I believe I am level 52, so I am not going to worry about leveling up before Monday night. I am really looking forward to some questing with you in Moria!

I joined during the Monday night drive, lapsed, and just re-subbed. My character is only about level 21, and still in the Lone Lands (or someplace with a similar name), but if anyone happens to be on concurrently, and wants to help a noob get through some of the tougher quests, feel free to message Monowallop on Nimrodel in-game.

Is there any point in trying to start a lvl 1 character with Mines of Moria? Does it mean I’d only be able to play in the Mines? I’m confused about what actually comes in the box. NewEgg says it’s the ‘Complete Edition’ and the front cover says it includes Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria. But other places seem to indicate that you still need the original game in order to play the Angmar areas.

You will get everything in that box. There is no starting area in Moria itself. You’ll want to be in the high 40s before you even think of going in there. Your starting area is determined by your race.

Look forward to seeing you!

I play alts a lot so I’ll look out for you. Monowallop is your character name, right?

I have a captain name Kalianta in the kin who I think is around 27. I can help you out with some of those quests. Is Monowallop in the Knighs of Quarter to Three?

Holy Jesus.

Yup, I’m in the KoQt3. Thanks guys, I’ll keep a look out for you when I’m next online.

I had a great time with the EST group last night, and I appreciate the help I got catching up on my quests. I hope to be able to regularly take part at the EST time over the next six weeks. I was sure rusty on my game mechanics, and boy is the geography of Moria confusing to me! I do think the visual design of Moria is amazing, but I will probably go back to other areas to craft so that I get a breath of fresh air once in a while.

What would be a good combo of classes for a twosome? My fiancee is leaning towards a Hunter and I wasn’t sure what a great complementary class would be. Any idea if a Loremaster would work if I used the pet as a tank?

Most things will work with a hunter as the game is very easy to duo. Play what you wish and you will still be able to boom through it. I duoed my hunter with a mini and it was very easy.

Ok great, thanks - I think we’re both shying away from melee classes so that should work out well.
