I finally got around to trying this. Serral, L24 Guardian on Landroval. Went with the higher population server since I’ll mostly be playing late pacific time and would never see the Monday night group.
I was in the closed beta, but for some reason didn’t pick it up at launch. Very solo friendly compared to what I remember. Mob spawns are still very quick though, which can get annoying.

If you want to tailor your deed grinds according to which virtues you seek, this is the best place I’ve found to plan it out. The site even has a section for recommended virtue builds per class. You should be able to safely ignore the ones that wouldn’t help your class so much.
I just re-upped my sub… although now I see something about Free Play coming so I wonder about that. Oh well, $30 for 3 months still seems like a good deal.
I haven’t checked back on my original Nimrodel accounts but I have made a new character on Landroval; Peachamir, Captain, 15. I will look into the channel eventually and ask for membership.
I’d like to get back into the old Monday Nights thing but it sounds like Nimrodel is pretty empty and also now it is looking like my Monday’s aren’t the best. Still; I’ll be on and off there eventually.

Oooo, that’s a great site. Thanks!
I have a feeling once free-to-play opens up, the empty servers will get a nice population boost. It looks like the current subscriptions are basically turning into the VIP feature. As far as I can tell it is basically the same as what we get now, plus 500 Turbine bucks a month(not sure if thats a lot). I browsed what they are gimping in the free version and I think I’m going to stick with my subscription.
Most concerning to me was the mention of Quest Packs, does that mean no quests for free players in most areas? I never tried free DDO so I don’t know if something similar was done there. Don’t know why I care, it shouldn’t affect me.

Giving some info on the f2p here as well:
Quest packs will be the old expansions or various landmasses, but it’s kinda complicated.
DETAILS FOUND HERE (and the FAQ sublink)
Basically if you’re a lifetime member, you are a lifetime VIP in LOTRO. You’ll get up to 50$ (5000 max) of the Turbine points specific to lotro when it launches, plus 500 a month for life.
So lifetime is still lifetime, they haven’t forgotten us founders. But maybe we’ll have more people to play with now?
Which their forum managers suggest should be enough for any and all content expansion packs in the future (if you don’t burn it on fluff/cosmetic/convenience items)
IMPORTANT: if you’re a lifetime member (or a current subscriber?), log in once each in june, july, etc up till the F2P launch for 500 Turbine points, free (up to 1500 total).
Is anyone on Nimrodel a high level weaponsmith? Cause in a few more days I’m looking for someone to make me an L41 ax. Just need a few days get the shard and mats together.
I have a lower level toon that is Kindred with the WS guild, so I can make you a lvl 41 weapon no problem. That toon is Talabor, let me know if you want me to do that as I rarely log that one except to make stuff.
My main is Rashh, lvl 65 Guardian. Haven’t been part of the Monday night crew as I usually have family stuff going on Monday nights.

Massively has info up on Volume 3: Book 2.. It’s coming out this Fall and will include a new area called Enedwaith, south of Eregion. Some other cool stuff is coming with the book:
Turbine will make the old world raid instances available through the Skirmish interface for any group size, from solo to 24-man raid. These aren’t technically Skrimishes so you will receive no Skirmish Marks, but they use the Skirmish technology to set the instance difficulty, port you there and then drop you back into the world when you are done. No word yet on if you be able to solo the raid trophies, but they are working on more cosmetic rewards with the graphical look of the old world raid armor.
…
The last feature coming with the new patch is DX11 support. We weren’t shown the shininess of Middle-earth using DX11 technology, but were promised screenshots soon.
Players will be glad to hear that both Housing and Hobbies are getting some love. No specifics were given other than Housing getting an “upgrade” and a new Hobby is in the works. These plans are long-term and not for the upcoming patch.

Hmmph, looks like Massively was wrong. Developer posts on the LOTRO Forums:

We’ll see what we see but I can imagine more than a little culture shock when the F2P gamer (I play games because they’re free) meets the Tolkien fan (I play LoTRO because it’s a comfortable and familiar setting populated by like-minded folks).

Especially on the RP servers…
Hopefully most the kids are drawn to playing creeps out in the Moors.

Monster Play will only be available for VIP accounts (i.e. subscriptions).
Well, f*ck, there goes that hope.
I’m not sure I will be able to make it tonight. If not, have fun and I’ll see you next Monday.

As of today, June 24, we will no longer be accepting character transfers (Creep or Freep) to the following servers:
* Brandywine
* Elendilmir
* Landroval
Currently open requests will still be honored. Transfers to all other servers and transfers from the servers listed above are still available. We apologize for any inconvenience.

So, does this mean those servers are full up and won’t be touched by F2P for now?

I’ve rolled up a few characters on Brandywine, and it is amazingly different than poor Nimrodel. Everywhere you go is teeming with people.
A friend of mine was considering moving one of his high level characters over, but he waited too long. On the other hand, he says the PvP is more fun on Nimrodel, when it is happening.
I pulled my capt out of the Qt3 guild since he hit 65 and I wanted to start raiding with him a bit, something I doubt will ever happen with Knights. But I have a 63 mini parked in Ost Galadh I’d be happy to run with on Monday nights.
How many active Qt3ers do we still have on Nimrodel? And what level range are folks?
