Missed that clyve was playing prolix, so we’re each in one. Challenge me if you like, NG! I’m free all day.

Alright, I’m challenging Dave in Tomb 3. (Tomb 5 feels above my pay grade for this tournament…)

Let’s make it tomb 6, because nKoan’s already taking on the danger in tomb 3.

Brother, that was some heartbreaking drama right there.

Nightgaunt enters tomb 3, intent on helping his fellow adventurer with the ongoing battle, but steps on a trap that opens beneath his feet! He slides down a slippery rock face, bumping over cracks and rocks, and is deposited in tomb 6 with a thud and a cry of pain. He feels his body, checking for injuries, only gradually noticing that what he is laying on is quite soft, and scaly, and…

shifting its weight.

He leaps to his feet and gives the beast a wallop on the head, but slips off the monster’s back and right into its jaws. With a crack, the beast hurls Nightgaunt into the wall, where he lies, broken.

Nightgaunt’s body lies in tomb 6.

His pot of honey is snatched by a little basilisk, which carries it to a corner and tries to figure out how to open it. (The basilisk fights with a -10 penalty.)

Anyone wishing to resurrect Nightgaunt must be not in a fight. Don’t forget, too, that if someone loses a fight and cannot safely trace a path back to the entrance, they die no matter how many hit points remain! Right now, the path is safe, because all dangers are engaged. However, if one of the adventurers in tomb 5 loses their fight, then goes to tomb 6 and loses the fight to the basilisk in the attempt to take the pot of honey, then the danger in tomb 5 that is still alive will block the safely traced path.

nKoan and the White Scorpion in tomb 3 faced each other, each one unwilling to make the first move. Before the scorpion committed, nKoan reached into his satchel and pulled out a flask marked with an X, the colors yellow, blue, red and green filling each quadrant of the surface. He threw it at the scorpion, the contents splashing out onto the scorpion’s white carapace.

With a screech, the scorpion attacked, and despite the disadvantage, managed to nick nKoan in the shin. The skin blistered immediately, and nKoan was forced to withdraw!

I will dust myself off and go after the lone danger in 3, Dave Perkins.

Holy smokes, Dave is slashin up adventurers like crazy! Go dangers go!

What was that part about a basliisk fighting with -10?

At the end of the game, the danger’s score is reduced by 10, so the danger needs to win by 10. The basilisk is weak!

Good game, Dave. Frankly, I was happy with what I managed given a terrible opening draw and a couple of plays where I drew what I needed one turn too late (yeah, seems to happen all the time in LC, huh?) Oh, so…

<lying at the base of the stone wall, a trickle of blood flowing from his mouth into his grayed mutton chop sideburns>

“Accursed giant lizards! Stay away, Reginald-- <cough> There’s a good-- <cough> a good man. I suppose I’ll be… late for tea and crumpets at this rate-- I-- I… do… so… love <cough> crumpeeeeeeeh…”

Oh my gosh yes. In fact, at one point I determined to simply play so that such events would be minimized, and I went on this huge tear where I hit the 80% win rate achievement. I don’t know if there was a direct connection…

So what did you do differently? I guess you’d want to play your cards later so as not to preclude playing a lower number card that you hadn’t drawn yet. Seems like they you’d have to discard more cards you wouldn’t normally discard? Like cards that you know your opponent is looking for.

I can’t remember specifically what I did. I just remember the overall goal, namely, try to avoid those awful “UGH I just played the 8 and draw the 7” moments. I basically did anything at all to avoid them, including putting down cards that my opponent could use. And I don’t know if it worked, but I swear that’s when I went on a huge run!

Any updates on tecwrtr vs annie?

Anyone know why nKoan left Nightgaunt dead on the floor? :)

I’ll help him out after I take care of you.

nKoan barrels back into tomb 3, intent on revenge. The scorpion sees him and flinches, expecting perhaps to be dashed with another potion. But nKoan simply bull rushes the scorpion!

The Princess picks herself up, dusts herself off and remembers she can do anything to which she puts her mind. (At least that’s what her momma told her…). She flies back into Tomb 5 and defeats the daunting danger by blinding it with the pixie dust from her magic wand.

tecwrtr over Ankamela in Tomb 5

(No, I’ve never dropped acid. Somehow the South united with Disney. Don’t ask me.)
