Ahhh…finally watched all of season3.

I was intrigued when i was told that Brian K. Vaughn(Graphic Novels : Y:The Last Man, Runaways, Pride of Baghdad) became one of the writers / executive story director and wanted to see how Lost became with him at the helm of story.

Good stuff.

Having not yet experienced RiffTrax and being mildly curious about the show, I watched the Pilot with RiffTrax plus Tabula Rasa and Walkabout sans RiffTrax (four eps total).

RiffTrax made the initial experience beautiful of course, and I totally dig the John Locke character’s story, but I’m wondering if I should continue. Any advice for a newcomer? I don’t watch much TV and was probably spoiled by Heroes’ ability to avoid the Lost pitfalls (thus far anyway).

Get out while you still can!

Well said. I suppose I already knew that this was the best and only answer.

I must express one disappointment (that perhaps is unfair after having just read Mysterious Island - that is, the book which lacked the gigantic animals introduced later in the 1961 film), which is that I’m amazed that it isn’t until Days 5 and 6* when they actually decide that they should start seeking food and water sources. Sheesh. I mean come on, can people really mill around for all that time like that without one person thinking non-reactively or -passively? But with hundred-page threads like this one around, I suppose this has all been analyzed and debated to death already.

*Yes, that means that I’m watching the “White Rabbit” episode now. %$#@%$& slippery slope.

If you watch the episodes back-to-back, you’ll probably enjoy them more. I think some of the disappointment we’ve had comes from “I waited that much time for a fucking bullshit filler episode?”

I’d have to say yes to that. I watched the first 1.5 seasons that way, and it works much better.

Of course they fixed that this year… one week isn’t too much time to wait it seems.

In Lost - 121 - The greater good, at about 12:17, someone in a Sydney apartment is playing either Doom or Half-Life. There is also dialogue: “Damn it. I’m out of ammo.” “Use the crowbar.” “That only works on the zombies. Not the big boss.” Or at least, that’s what I thought I heard.

Was shown at Comic-Con last week, I think during the panel.

Anyone else kind of annoyed that Michael is back in the cast?

I always figured Michael was coming back, so no, not really.

Michael’s storyline was unresolved. It would have been yet another annoyance to me if they had not brought him back. Or at least let us know what happened to him.

Did anyone think that Michael and Walt were going to sail off and never appear in the show again?

I know the actor playing Walt has probably sprouted up, causing some casting issues, but it would be kind of weird if we never saw Michael again. I think most people were expecting it.

They did say that Michael was going to be back but not for the third season (they said that about Walt too).

I’m not annoyed at all, especially if there are both flashbacks and flash-forwards… if he’s living out in the states when the rest of the islanders return home, I think some would be in the mood for some massive payback.

Walt appeared in one of the last episodes of the last season and he had a big growth spurt.

I’ll deal with Walk, but if I have to hear Harold Perrineau whine one more time about his goddamned kid, I’m going to shoot him myself. “Walt! Walt! I killed one of the coolest characters on this show and you still won’t clean your room!”

I expected Michael back sometime but I was thinking maybe a short arc instead of rejoining the regular cast.

“It has to be exactly like this! Don’t ask me why!”
Really, Michael was annoying in the beginning, but later on he became completely stupid as well. Why can’t the Lost writers seem to create a sustainable black character (except Rose maybe, but she’s more of an extra)?

I got chills watching that trailer. Maybe I’m just a sucker for Lost, but I can’t wait for more…

Hey guys, any bets on who they kill off this season?

This pending writer’s strike has got me nervous about the season. I hope they have enough episodes ready to go.
