I’m more inclined to believe it’s a “time passes much more slowly” phenomenon with the island than any sort of alternate dimensions stuff. That would help to explain a lot of stuff, including the childbirth being impossible thing and the seemingly ageless Richard character, hell even the Jacob character could be an extremely advanced case of the island power’s effects on the human body.

I think a big key reveal will be when they finally get around to explaining who or what subverted Ben and why he then replaced the Dharma folks on the island with his own band of merry men. Is the same organization that helped him get set up in the first place now the one he (and Sayid) fight against? Or is there another power player out there connected to the island?

Slainte, I think “time passing slowly” would be pretty well debunked by the fact that, by all indications, only 100 or so days has passed outside the Island.

I may be misremembering the way I barely understood relativity, but isn’t the rule that the closer you get to the speed of light, the slower time moves? It may be that the tenous link between the Island and the outside world is some sort of wormhole or rift in space-time that slowed down the clock as the missle traveled through it.

Or something, I think any speculation at this point is going to be pretty wild and useless since we still don’t have enough info.

Jeff I heard you talking about Lost in an old GFW podcast about how extra stuff like the webisodes should not be critical to the main plot points:

Lost: Via Domus Not Canon With Show

In an interview with EW regarding Lost, and what’s happening with the current season Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have confirmed that the plot for Lost: Via Domus won’t necessarily be in canon with the overarching plot of the TV show.

“The mobisodes are in canon. The Orchid video is in canon. The videogame is not in canon,” comments Cuse when questioned about the many offshoots the show has spawned.

“It’s unfair for the audience to go to ancillary sources in order to really understand the show. Even the things like the mobisodes, which are in canon, aren’t essential to your understanding of the show. These things are just added bonuses,” he concluded.

Finally, Lindelof also chimes in to comment “The only true canon is the show itself.”

Nevertheless, the game is still said to be better than most expect a licensed product to be, and judging by recent previews should be an interesting experience for fans of the show when it is released across Europe early next month.

Just reaffirming that this is the best show in the universe.

Okay, another of the Oceanic Six revealed. SPOILER:

Aaron. How’d Kate end up with him, and what happened to Claire? And does Jack know he’s Aaron’s uncle?

I saw that reveal coming from Kate and Claire’s conversation at the clothesline, but I didn’t even get a chance to wow anyone because they gave it away in the same episode. That’s not the Lost I know!

Totally awesome though. So who are the Oceanic Eight? The six that got out, plus two more that made it onto the island and died according to Jack’s story. And why did they “die on the island” instead of dying in the crash? Maybe their bodies were carried back with the survivors?

Anyone else think that Miles’ offer gets extended to the rest of the group, and that’s why Jack says they died in the crash?

MY DVR screwed up and I missed the first thirteen minutes. Before I watch the final 47, wha’ happened?

That was one of the more boring episodes this season. The last 60 seconds made it up slightly. That kid looks kind of old. I guess it could have taken some time for the court proceedings to start.

Do you think they would count Aaron as one of the Oceanic 6? He technically wasn’t a passenger of the flight. They certainly could count him though I guess.

Kind of wonder why Jack would be weirded out about seeing the baby too. He would have to know that it’s Claire’s baby.

Because it’s his nephew.

Oh, now I get it. I thought she called him Erik, and was wondering WTF that meant.Second show in a row where the last dialogue was hard to make out, same with Sayid’s last words to Ben last week.Could not even make it out in the last 5 minutes I rewatched before this show. Don’t know if it’s me or they have a sound problem.

Doesn’t look good for Claire then.

Maybe he felt guilty about whatever happened to Claire.

And gives the “Claire’s in the coffin thing” a little more credence, although that seems to put Desmond in a poor light and makes Charlie’s sacrifice much less meaningful.

Does he know that?

Claire wouldn’t be in the coffin. This trial took place before the funeral, easily by a few months at the least, so if Claire was alive, why should Aaron be with Kate?

I think it’s a good bet Claire won’t be one of the Oceanic 6 at this point.

Not on the island, but he could find out afterwards.

Remind me why Jack is Aaron/Eric’s nephew again? Who got Claire preggers?

EDIT: I mean Aaron’s uncle, of course.

Jack’s dad did some woman in Australia, and Claire is the result.

So Claire is a half-sister to Jack. Got it.

Disappointing episode. After the great start to the season I guess they had to throw some filler in there at some point. The coming attractions look pretty good, though.
