I’ve long thought Jin was a prime candidate to be axed- mainly because of the big communication barrier. So I would guess that Sun is one of the Six and that Jin dies.
His company’s a contractor for Hanso - I can’t remember what they were supplying though.
There have been a couple of scenes this season seemingly inserted specifically to show that Jin is learning English. I believe that this is because he lives and gets off the island. I’d be really surprised if we don’t learn that they both get off the island next episode.
Yeah my theory took a bit of a hit last episode with the scene of him bettering his English. Still it one of the things that I think hurt Seasons 2 & 3 were that the cast got way too large and some stories were frankly more interesting than others. With paired down seasons I expect we’ll see the cast whittled down a bit to compensate. Personally I would put Jin, Sun, and Claire on the chopping block as being the people I’m least interested in at this point.

Didn’t Hurley imagine Jin speaking in perfect English waaaaaay back in Season 2? Now that time travel has been introduced and Hurley’s experience with Charley in the asylum - that scene may be more relevant then we thought.
The scene of Jin speaking perfect english was an actual dream, though, IIRC, not a hallucination.
The actor who plays Jin can speak perfect American english, which was probably a consideration when casting him.
RE: Tonite’s ep -
Why does that Captain look familiar?

I saw you posted this before the end… The ending of the episode was even crazier…
SPOILER
I guess we now know the 6 and one of the bodies?
SPOILER
Bodies? I don’t think what we saw in this episode tells us about what we saw in the end of Season 3, aside from giving us a bit more of the timeline.

Man, even though we all completely knew that the big reveal would be Michael, it was still really cool how they did that scene. The recognition between Sayid and Michael was great.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this block of episodes have been pretty damn consistently great.

Uh, what was the date on that tombstone again?

1974-2004 was what I thought I read.

It said September 22, 2004. I’m pretty sure that’s the day that the plane crashed.
That makes sense. Obviously, all of the non-Oceanic 6 would get tombstones, since they’re “dead” to the outside world.
What’s great is this opens the possibility that Jin is alive still in the future, and Sun is crying not because he’s gone, but because there’s some reason why they can’t be together. Like Jin is trapped on the island, or in Widmore’s underground evil machination bunkers, or whatnot.
Yeah I’m kind of thinking that too, it’s still possible most if not all are still alive on the island somehow… still… damn.

My weekly post about this being the best show on TV commences in 3…2…1…
This is the best show on TV.
I’ll be bummed if they didn’t have the courage of their convictions in killing him off, especially after the way that they manipulated us in this episode.
That said, they didn’t totally get me this time. I figured out Jin wasn’t around when the “not Jin” guy showed up during the birth.

my weekly response that you must be high commences in…shit, too late, already started.
welcome back to the “person a doesn’t tell person b important piece of information about whats going on, until person c feels compelled to tell them” mode of storytelling. and look: it really IS michael! ZOMGZ
I’m so glad I haven’t kept up with this show since the first season. I haven’t seen an episode of television so packed with plot twists instead of actual plot since a season finale of the X-Files.
