Oh right. sorry, you may continue.

CLERK
I’m sorry, but the law requires a five-day waiting period. We’ve got to run a background check.

HOMER
Five days? But I’m mad now!
Ooooh! I’d kill you if I had my gun.

My take on the reason Ben sent Carl, and Danielle out to get shot was that he doesn’t want Alex to get pregnant. Before he stopped them at the close of the meeting the camera showed him looking at Carl’s hands on Alex’s waist and being displeased. Getting rid of her real mother was just a bonus to getting rid of Carl. I’m sure he can come up with a story for Alex that it wasn’t his people who did it. My only problem right now with my own theory is how did he get word to his people they were coming and who to shoot.

I found it hard to believe that Danielle could be convinced to do anything Ben suggested…

I still don’t think it was Ben doing it, especially since we haven’t seen the soldiers who were clay pigeon shooting during Sayid and Desmond’s little boat adventure. It could be misdirection, sure, but it seems just as likely that Ben was right about the whole “They’ll use you against me” thing. That seems like more of a Lost style plot driver than “Oh, Dad, not again…

The soldiers who were clay pigeon shooting, could have come to the island with Naomi. I don’t belive she was really alone on her helicoptor. That may have been them that killed Carl and Danielle. I don’t recall any of the others wearing Camo (one of the plants was moving towards Alex).

What? The soldiers clay pigeon shooting were still on the boat when Sayid and Desmond got there, and we’ve seen the helicopter crew in Faraday’s flashback. Naomi, the pilot, Faraday, asian guy, and redhead were the only ones on that first helicopter flight in.

Now Sayid notices the helicopter has left again at the beginning of this past episode, but I don’t remember if we saw the trigger happy guys since then. If not, it is possible they’re now on the island, but you’ve got a very confused account of that first helicopter flight in.

Also, I don’t think the plant was moving toward Alex, someone was just moving through the plants.

I’m so annoyed we have another bloody hiatus.

I did pick up the Lost game today to tide me over, but it will be interesting to see how they can finish the game when we don’t know how the show ends…

Good luck with that.

LOL!

Not to threadjack, but I had a similar bizarre thing happen in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 today - I killed a dude behind a shield, and his body jittered and floated away.

By making the plot about a complete moron who nobody’s ever heard of, and semi-resolving his boring story while the rest of the cast tell him to piss off and have a real adventure. Even the Lost creators have openly called it non-canonical.

Sorry, You are right. The soldiers were on the boat with Desmond and Sayid.

But The first helicoptor crashed in the ocean.

(from lostpedia) “Not long after, a helicopter crashed offshore of the Island, and a parachutist landed in the jungle. Desmond’s flashes convinced him it was Penny but it turned out to be Naomi instead.”
Also in Michael’s Flashback we see the pilot and Naomi talking about who is flying to the island first.

And you’re right, I do have the Naomi part mixed up. Sorry!

No problem they give us alot to keep track of…

Unless Ben’s group found a way to resupply–and that’s not something to rule out–I’m going with the silenced weapons crowd being the Freighties.

Also, the next episode is titled “The beginning of the end” and that’s what Ben said would happen if Jack made the call.

Are you sure about that? I thought that was the title of the season premiere.

EDIT: Wiki corroborates and also claims that the next episode is called “The Shape of Things to Come.

That’s what I get for reading Lostpedia on my iPhone.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

For anyone who wants to pick up the game, be aware it was designed by a moron who thought being able to save the game was not a necessity, even on exit…

the game isn’t canon anyway.

As Jazar said, that was a different guy. Who later got shot by Juliette when she had to make sure that Kate and Sawyer get off the smaller island alive because of Jack having taken Ben hostage in the surgery room.

Not sure if Danielle’s really out of the game - she wouldn’t be the first character to return from the ‘dead’, see Locke, Mikhail, Naomi (briefly) and the like. If she’s dead for good, well, congrats, Lost writers, you got me. Certainly an interesting way to set it up since you could see Carl’s exit coming from a mile away when he started to chat with Alex and it made you go “geez, guys, that was a bit too obvious.”
