I hope that Danielle isn’t dead. It just seems weak to me that her entire purpose ends up as an emotional punchline for Alex.
They are also the most genuine looking mother/daughter pair on TV. She really could be Furlan’s daughter, but she isn’t.
For anyone who has missed the promos: New time Thursday 10 pm EST!
It’s a weird move, but this means I can get almost all of my ABC TeeVee viewing out of the way on a single night.
I thought the whole Thursday move was bizarre, it was OK when CSI was in reruns but now they are opposite new Without a Trace…

the promos pretty much spoil who came after alex
According to last week’s podcast, we’ll find out more about the smoke monster this week, or whatever episode 9 is.
Damn, that’s pushing the cutoff time for chips & cheese dip! I’ll just have to eat it faster.

So wait a minute, Ben lied about something? Didn’t see that coming. Great episode though.
What a bloodbath.
Are we sure they didn’t add GRRM to the writing staff during the strike?
Smokey to the rescue!
I gotta think there were more people than the the house group and the three redshirt crash survivors they killed off in the village that went with Locke, though… if not they sure did kill off quite a few.

Dear Bad Robot,
There are too many characters in your TV show.
Remove 4.

Well damn, son. That was an actiontastic episode. The thing about the doc was intriguing - were the people on the boat just BSing or did they really not know he was dead (possibly implying that he is still alive on the boat …)?
That was indeed a pile of asskickery. I’m so pleased - well, not really, but you know what I mean - that the show had the balls to shoot Ben’s daughter like that. Plus I loved the bit where Ben teleports into the desert and disarms two dudes in a matter of seconds. (“Oh, so you do speak English.”)
Dear Bad Robot,
Please ignore the mad man.
Shine on you crazy diamonds.
Signed,
The People
To be fair, they’ve killed 4 characters (not counting extras) in the space of the last two episodes, so, mission accomplished!
The previews of Jack’s deadly encounter with appendicitis next week failed to stir any excitement in me, given that we already know Jack doesn’t die on the island.

Am I the only one to find it weird how Ben got turned into a frickin’ ninja or something? It surely was a ‘bad-ass moment’ when he took out the two guys he encountered in the Sahara, but it also felt out of character. He always seemed like the weakling that likes to manipulate people rather than, well, kicking ass. He grew up and on the island - see Flashback episode it’s not he got to spent some time with the marines or something along the lines since he seemed to busy picking up the trash. I’m sure it’ll be explained in some episode to come, but it was strange nevertheless.

I took it as him making use of surprise. I don’t think he’d be able to take on an army of pirate ninja zombies or anything but when he can get the jump on someone (like the hotel guy) he’ll take advantage of it.
Am I the only person that thinks Penelope’s dad is a former islander? I’m guessing he sailed on the Black Rock.
And put me down in the badass! camp.

Nah, he was simply in charge of the dharma initiative probably, and that’s why Ben took the island from him.
