Does it? I thought she said something about “doing something for Sawyer”, which I think could mean something he asked her to do before he died. But maybe I don’t exactly remember the phrasing.

Jack said, “He made his choice. He chose to stay” This flashforward also took place before the one where Jack says they need to go back.

It could also mean he asked her to do it because he decided to stay on the island (as he said he was going to do, and as Jack ranted at her about as well), and he needed something done. I think the bigger question is: What did Sawyer need doing that required her to run off in secrecy to do?

I personally figure someone is reading all the fansites and writing the story the night before. Basically: “Ok, Kate, you stand over there. Yes, I know, this is the 4th time you’re in various pieces of underwear for this episode, but this is what they want. Ok, ready? Now, bend over.”

According to Lostpedia, the scar is visible.

Can we start saying “Fuck Lost” yet?

Not that I noticed, and I looked because I remembered the previews and thought that meant it was a flashback until I saw Kate… But then again, I did not watch in HD this week.

I didn’t see it in HD either, but looking at the screencap on Lostpedia you can kinda make it out.

HD may be the difference. The scar shouldn’t be all that visible anyway. It’s not like he was butchered.

that was a really pathetic episode with the exception of Hurley and Jack/Claire’s dad

Hey, it’s still better now than it was around the end of Season 2 and most of Season 3. If you weren’t saying it then, I don’t know why you would now.

I thought the episode was fine. They’re clearly scrambling a bit to get everything in place for the next season, and that means they can’t keep focused on a small number of characters as they move the pieces around. But it was still a decent episode of the show.

Also, I guess I was wrong about Danielle surviving. They’ve wiped out her whole bloodline.

Besides, the episode before last was buckets full of awesome. They had to go back on a lovey-dovey sentimental track after an action packed episode.

That pissed me off. I really got attached to Danielle’s awesome “I’m gonna carry my rifle around everywhere” paranoid survivalist streak. The way she shut Ben up in the season finale last year was classic.

How do you survive the Others for 15 years and get wiped out by some crappy Mercs? She should’ve lived to take revenge on them for killing her daughter at the very least.

It’s not paranoid when you’re stranded on a magic island where immortals are fighting corporations for control of smoke monsters and there’s a ninja accountant on the loose.

H.

Accountant?

The scar was clearly visible when toweled Jack was checking himself out in the mirror.

They don’t specify Sawyer’s fate, but the way Jack said something about Sawyer choosing to stay on the island really seemed to imply that he’s still alive (at least as far as they know). The slightly more interesting question, to me, is whether it was something Sawyer asked Kate to do before she left (if so, she sure waited a long time) or whether he just called her up and asked her later or asked Ben to give her a message when he went off island or whatever, because I’m curious to know if Sawyer comes around to Ben’s group or if he remains on-island but separate from Ben & John & whomever.

I have always assumed that while the 6 got off the island, that the rest are still alive and on the island, hence all that stuff with Jack early on about having to to back to the island.

Ben. He looks like an accountant. Balding, a bit soft, etc. I say, I say stay with me here, son.

Fuck, it just occurred to me that you might not remember Foghorn Leghorn. Screw you, young people!!

H.

Fortunately, I keep my feathers numbered for just such an emergency.

Christ, I’m a youngin’, but I grew up on Looney Tunes and Nick and Nite for crying out loud.

I’ve probably seen as much Get Smart and Dragnet as you have.
