Fixed it for you. :)

“I say, I say” would be a British Foghorn Leghorn.

It’s been a while.

H.

Finally caught up with the post-strike LOST this weekend. Wow. That Ben-centric episode was perhaps one of the best yet. The character interactions between the Lockites was fantastic. I actually lol’d when the redshirt lemmings died one, two, three in quick succession, it’s almost like they won a contest to appear on LOST. I could swear Locke’s followers were more numerous than that though. The second episode was not nearly as good, but the stuff with Hurley was interesting. He seems to be of the opinion that what’s happening to them is not real, or is somehow being manipulated, and signs are pointing to his being more on track than Jack or Kate. Kate going pantsless for the entire episode could be considered another plus as well I suppose, but the rest of the episode was pretty meh.

I had thought all the “flash-forwards” were happening in reverse order. In other words, melt-down Jack meeting Kate at the airport from the end of Season 3 was actually the furthest point out into the “future” of the Oceanic Six. Now I’m not so sure though, as this episode seemed like it may have been set after the trial and the exchange between Kate and Jack by the taxi. On the other hand, Jack appears to be starting to lose it in this episode, which would fit with the timeline being prior to the airport meeting. I suppose Jack and Kate could have had this relationship prior to the trial, then Jack somehow finds out that Aaron is actually his half-nephew, and that freaks him out and breaks up the relationship, leading to the scene at the taxi about not being with Kate until he can accept Aaron. That would put everything back on the timeline again. My head hurts…

As for the Ben vs. Widmore thing…seems like that’s all new stuff they’ve dreamed up since the decision to take the show down a particular path to a closing point, so chances are we won’t know what the hell that’s all about until closer ot the finale of this season or even into next. Was next season supposed to be the final one?

I’m more than a little disappointed that the smoke monster could easily kill poor Echo and yet these mercs get away from it with barely a scratch except for the one guy that was beat up. It would certainly seem like the pilot, Charlotte and Daniel (and probably Miles too) are NOT really affliated with the larger group from the boat. That would beg the reason then, why exactly ARE they along? Wouldn’t the mercs have been able to handle things? Or the mercs and just Daniel?

Jack specifically mentions the trial (as a past event) to Hurley at one point in that episode, so if the flashforwards were all in reverse order before, that is now out the window.

Yeah that was kind of odd. I figured all the mercs totally got killed by the smoke monster in the previous episode and was really surprised to find out they are all pretty much OK.

I think those 4 are all pretty much just freelancers, each chosen for a different reason and each with their own motivation for coming along. Even the mercs are probably really just freelancers and are only with Widmore because he paid them to come do a job. Daniel and the pilot’s motivations for being there are fairly well established, but I don’t think we have enough information on Charlotte or Miles to know exactly why they were chosen to go along.

I always assumed miles was there to talk to Jacob and Charlotte is there because of the polar bears in the sahara, but I am not sure how these are both going to play out.

I’m still wondering why the first time we saw Faraday, he was crying at the news report of the 815 wreckage being “discovered.” I’m guessing it was because he was remembering something that hasn’t happened yet.

Plus, I wonder who his wife is in that scene. Because it seemed like they made a point of not showing her face, or anything that would identify her.

I don’t remember that scene at all, but I’m saying Penny, heard it here first.

You’re probably right.

Was it his wife? I almost thought he was in a mental home and it was a helper and/or nurse. Would he be caring that much for what’s-her-face in so short a time?

It’s his care-taker. It said so in the enhanced episode

Half-brother.

Claire is Jack’s half-sister, making her son his nephew (or half nephew or whatever.)

Huh? Jack is Claire’s half brother. How does that make Claire’s son Jack’s half brother too?

edit: yeah, what he said

Yeah, you’re right. Brain fart on my part.

Just watched this one. Does Jack know he’s related to Aaron? I’m bad with remembering details. I don’t think what he said to Kate in the flash-forward is conclusive one way or another, and I think it was written to be ambiguous.

He doesn’t know in the “present,” aka island-time, but I thought the whole episode was basically setting it up so that he’s going to find out pretty soon. (He and Claire both saw Jack’s father, Claire called him “Dad”). It was ambiguous, but I’d bet cash money Jack finds out by the time of that flashforward.

Hooooooooo boy. Good ep tonight, but mostly for what it setup for the end of the season.

I really did not care for the last two episodes, but tonight’s was good. There is something about the Locke/Ben storyline that is just damn compelling. And seeing the ageless guy again and Lt. Daniels was cool… now I just wish I knew what they were supposed to be doing.

Remember way back when, when we were told there is a reasonable explanation for everything and it was not fantasy based?? We are getting further from that every week. Still enjoyable but…

So, is his full name Jacob Richard or Richard Jacob??

Sweet crispy Christ that was good.

Pretty sure it’s Richard Alpert. I don’t think he’s gonna turn out to be Jacob.
