So when does the new season start?

I love how this show always does a left turn on ya. Well played.
I love this show. Best show on TV.
Ok… that was a good one (particularly when you have it on PVR and start watching 40 minutes late so you can zip past all the commercials and finish on time!).
Gotta say one thing: I love how Terry O’Quinn’s character was at first “John Locke,” the philosopher who popularized the notion of Tabula Rasa, and then became “Jeremy Bentham,” the philosopher best known as as Utilitarian – the end justifies the means.
Never before has a TV show operated on so many layers. I have wanted to hate Lost all season because it was getting all goofy with the time travel and unanswered questions, but I really enjoyed the finale tonight. I was left with a sense – for the first time, perhaps – the writers actually have an idea where they are taking this thing.
yay Desmond and Penny! Loved the Eko cameo, I wish he was still with us.
So do you think they actually killed Jin, or do you think he managed to make it into the water before the boat went all nukular?

The fans seem to love the Jin/Sun relationship. I wouldn’t be too surprised if he was blown clear of the wreckage and was picked up by Daniel on his little boat when they investigated. How they would get back to the island is anyone’s guess.
I’m going to assume that not only did the island move, it also took a bunch of water and air around it, including Daniel’s boat and the contents thereof.
I agree with Alan, he’s dead as a doornail.

So next season - I’m guessing we’ll have two stories developing in paralell. One will be what’s been happening on the island during the three years the Oceanic Six (eight?) escaped. The other will be how the Oceanic Six return - what they have to go through to get back there.
Nice to see the Desmond Penny reunion.
Of course, now they’re back together they can start to torture them all over again.
I called Locke just before Ben turned up. Not super brilliant, but it suddenly all made sense.
LOVE this show, and Jin is dead.
I figure we’re going to spend most of next season finding out what went wrong on the island and why John left and got killed, so Terry O’Quinn isn’t going anywhere.
Also, Jin was way up at the front of the boat, I don’t think he’s dead. When a main character gets killed they’re always pretty explicit about it. Michael got a message from Jack’s dad and we see him standing next to the bomb when it goes off, so he’s toast. Jin is still alive in the water.

Pfft. I called Locke before the first season, even.
But out of curiosity, how did what suddenly all make sense?
In what I thought was a superb touch, that room tied together the Richard-Others as the crew members of the Black Rock with simple decor. I’d be curious to find out if someone took stills of the writing on the wall/obelisks in that room and has deciphered it yet.
Yeah, I agree. In fact, I suspect the reason Sun was trying to make a deal with Widmore is that “Jeremy Bentham” told her that Jin was alive. So now she’s trying to do anything to get back to the island.
