My revolt last year was based primarily on VBulletin being borked.

Once that was fixed the thread remained unbroken.

I really can hardly wait for the next season.

VBulletin still kinda borks the hscroll/page number display if your resolution or browser window width is low enough, but it isn’t nearly as bad as it was before where it was borked even at 1680x1050 on this thread and when the borking messed up the actual post content display.

Someone should graph the Lost/Heroes/BSG “cool” vs “sucks” thread over time, to see if there’s a marked shift between them. Is there a “fixed amount of cool” that migrates from show to show? Do they track at the same time? Are we all jaded? How often do we throw a “But B5/Farscape/something was better consistently?” comment into the mix?

That’s actually a good question XPav. Has there ever been a period where both Lost, Heroes, and Galactica were high in qt3 esteem?

As I recall, the first season of Heroes took place simultaneous to Lost’s (dreadful) third season. Likewise, iirc Galactica got started during Lost’s (mediocre) second season, and by the time Lost got consistently good again (season 4), Galactica had gone to crap.

Battlestar’s best episode was arguably “Exodus Pt 2” near the beginning of season 3 (escape from New Caprica w the atmosphere drop and Pegasus destruction). That was 10.20.06. I don’t think they’ve aired anything since that’s touched it.
Heroes’ first season was obviously the most well-received, starting September 2006. The series’ most two popular episodes were “Company Man” on 2.26.07 and “Five Years Gone” on 4.30.07.
After a lousy season 3, LOST hit a home run with the flash-forward finale on 5.23.07.

So they really haven’t overlapped much in positive reception. BSG’s last great episode was when Heroes was just catching on, and LOST was busy sucking. By the time LOST put together a decent episode that year, Heroes S1 and BSG S3 were done.
