Maybe she’s not supposed to have Jin’s ring.
Maybe she’s become too much like Ben.
Maybe her “constant” changed from Jin to the baby, thus preventing her from moving backwards in time. Or perhaps the writers just needed a plot device to have Creepy Christian show up and explain the islands magic juju some more.
‘Or perhaps the writers’ is my preferred explanation for everything, actually.
That’s not how constants work. You only need a constant when only your consciousness is moving back and forth through time.
can’t wait for a Fahey-centric episode! Can’t wait to see what kind of trouble he got into
I have a hunch that Sun didn’t teleport because of something to do with her dealings with Widmore (though this also boils down to mystical juju stuff, which is unfortunate). I’m not sure how it all fits together, but I don’t know what the point of all the Widmore/Sun in the airport, etc was about if not to have some meaning further on. I’d like to give the writers the benefit of the doubt that everything we see these days will have some payoff now that they are working towards a fixed series end.
Baby Ben!
And did anyone else notice that Jack’s dad was holding stuff?
The scene where Sawyer told Jack what a shitty leader he was might be my favorite scene in the whole series.
I’m convinced the Sun situation is a contrivance by the writers that will never be explained. I’m getting the distinct feeling that most things won’t be explained and that the whole thing will end in some stupid paradoxical loop. Sun not traveling through time is really feeling like a breaking point for me. I gave up on Lost back at the beginning of season 2, then got back into when my girlfriend started watching it on line. I’m seeing again why I lost interest the first time, stupid and obvious plot devices that will never be explained, aka lazy ass writing.
That was pretty awesome. I think the best part about it was that Jack actually looked relieved afterwards.
I also liked the fact that Sawyer stuck Jack with the “Workman” janitorial gig. Classic.
Don’t think he had much choice, it would have to be something mundane as I’m sure many other people would be aware of a neurosurgeon coming over. Same reason Juliette is a mechanic.

Maybe it was the…Dunt Dunt Da…smoke monster!
Obviously, at this point, any explanation is possible since they have given up any pretense of realism.
Heh, that would be funny and I could honestly see them trying to pull that sort of shit (the smoke monster being Jacob/Christian). However back a while when the Mercs were after Ben he very deliberately released the smoke monster to go after them. Also it’s stopped by the sonic shield Dharma had around their camp which the Others had to maintain to keep it out. I’m not going to buy that the smoke monster is Jacob or that Jacob somehow controls it.

I agree with your take. I’m mostly being tongue-in-cheek. At the end of this show, people are going to crack their brains trying to reconcile the internal consistency of this story.
Did I see a smoke or fog curling into that building behind Sun and Lapides while Christian was talking to them?
I thought I saw that as well.

I thought I heard the smoke monster noises (chains, clicking) right before the light came on in the building.
I’ll have to check the DVR to make sure.
There were only whispers.
