I heard the … What sound is that … Locusts? The locust scrapety-scrape sound.

Is there an old cartoon that had a similar sound effect? It suddenly seems so familiar.

Ninja Turtles?

Oh, Roadkill Rodney! Wow! The smoke monster is Roadkill Rodney!

Well they did hear the monster in the jungle as they were walking up to the processing center, which is what made me think of it. But I was thinking about the sonar fence also. I suppose there’s no reason the fence couldn’t have been turned off by an ageless four-toed alien.

Pretty sure the fence got disabled some time during the Bloodthirsty Mercenary Assault, since Ben goosed old smokey into beating off Team Evil while everybody left in The Barracks took off for other parts of The Island.

Also - this show needs at least thirty percent fewer proper nouns.

The one thing I’m wondering, is where are the Others in 2007? Their old camp looks abandoned when Sun and Frank show up.

If the Others were left behind when the time shifting started in 2004, they’ve had three years to reestablish themselves. If they were time shifted as well, where have they been this whole time?

Do we know for sure that Sun and Co. are in the present?

That place looked really dilapidated. Strangely, the building on the other island looked a bit less so.

I’m not sure that the general appearance of the house counts if they’re in The Barracks (question - where the hell are they?), because The Barracks sustained a rocket attack and could be expected to look like the runoff from a lumberyard. If they’re in The Barracks. I wish this show had a mini-map.

They are in 2007. After the initial scene with Sun there was a title card that said “Thirty Years Earlier” (or something to that effect) and then showed the crew in 1977.

Good call, Kevin.

I didn’t recall about the barracks, Brian … Was the rocket attack from the mercenaries? I was thinking something must’ve happened.

And The Barracks is where the Others lived and had the book club and all that, right? Or a different place?

People here complain a lot about things that don’t make sense, but the only one that sticks in my craw is the Dharma food drop that they got on the beach.

Who was supplying Desmond with Dharma products?

Found the Lostpedia entry.

When they are in the processing center talking to Christian, a door swings open and a wispy fog or smoke rolls into the building. Also, after Sun looks at the photo, you can see a mysterious woman moving around behind her.

Yes, you’ve got the general area. I don’t know how far they’re considered to extend, but The Barracks are the Dharma living facilities where the book club staged and where Sawyer and Locke and the rest were living until the mercenaries came in and starting hucking RPGs at them. That said, from what other folks have described, it sounds like this is yet another different location on The Island, so maybe it’s torn up and dilapidated for an entirely different reason.

IIRC, the last time we saw the others they were headed into the “temple”, presumably the same one Danielle and her crew found around the time of Jin jumping into the past. Maybe the purpose of that temple is to shield people inside from the time shifting? But yeah, we haven’t seen what they have been up to in the 3 years since.

This was definitely the old Dharma camp.

It was the induction station. The sign for it appeared briefly hanging by a corner from the ceiling.

One good reason for the workman/janitor job is that you can have a good reason to be most anywhere.

I believe the producers have said relatively recently that this will be addressed before the series ends.

Holy crap, I rewatched that scene, and you’re right. That’s creepy. What are the theories? Claire? Some other dead person? Crew member who accidentally got in the shot?

The woman there could be Claire, as you can make a similar hairline. But it can also be a crew man they missed if you ask me.

Guys, you’re missing probably the biggest Lost reveal this season.

Somehow, even though Faraday said it was impossible, the Losties stuck in '77 have changed history. Or more to the point will change it. Sun and Frank were in Othersville, except now the Others never took it over. All the Dharma signage is still on the walls, the windows are boarded up. That place has been vacant for at least 20 years.

Good point if true, but you’re making a couple of assumptions - 1) that the Others took down all the Dharma signage in every building when they took over the Dharma compound after the purge, and 2) that the place has been vacant for 20 years.
