And they’d have to make Brisco County, Jr., Jr. without Bruce - as he looks pretty rough these days.
Though they could make him a Judge, and have Cousins introduce him to their lovechild in the first episode. But, and this is the most important aspect, they’d have to have someone equal parts charming and goofy enough to make it work …

Wouldn’t be the same without Bowler. :(
Wow, it’s really going to suck if the ultimate resolution of this whole series is simply preventing everything that happened over the course of it …
Closed time-like loops, indeed.
No kidding …
Though it would be amusing that the writers, in an apparent fit of self-loathing, might seek to unwrite the entire series.
Would that also result in me unwatching the entire series? Cause, that I might go for.
With my discovery of this not being the last season my interest has waned. I was watching this season almost entirely for some resolution.

So I would assume the ending tonight removes the possibility of the entire series being a closed time loop?
Not until it actually happens. It was essentially Daniel, admittedly the Time Genius, trying to make it happen. Testing a theory.
However, if it does end up that way … Well, what would be the point of any of it? Of the Others and Locke being their leader, and the experiments, and …
So there has to be more to it.
Otherwise it’s one step removed from ‘it was all a dream!’
I hate it when the writers make the characters act stupid and out of character.
What would make Daniel think the best way to get to speak to Mom was at gun piont? Why would he think he would be unable to peacefully convince Richard, the guy that does not age, that he was the same person that helped him in the 50s, and wanted to do so again?

Well the last time he spoke to Richard he was held at gun point the entire time.
Ellie didn’t age much between the 1950s and 1976, did she?
And no one hurt him and he was able to talk all he wanted.
I guess that clip they showed at Comicon of Daniel filming Dr. Chang in the past was, uh, non-canon.
Um, since when is that guy’s name Dr. Chang? Wasn’t he called Marvin Candle or something? I’m confused.

Candle, Halliwax, etc. are pseudonyms he only uses in different Dharma films.
Screw their comic-con film. What’s the point of making that crap if isn’t going to connect in?
“Hi, here’s this thing we made with characters you know that could add a little depth for those who want it, but, nevermind.”
They should just admit they’re mis-timed April Fool’s Day vids.
You should stop watching.
And posting. Definitely.
Meanwhile, I thought this was fun. Daniel was wrong, I think, about being able to change the past.
It isn’t just that they would land normally if he undid the hatch. Most of them wouldn’t be on the plane, some of them would have never been born—including him.
The joke is on Daniel. But let’s just point out that he isn’t dead yet…
After all, if Locke can miraculously survive getting shot in the gut and left for dead in a pit in the jungle, Daniel should be able to recover nicely from a rifle shot through the back that hit his liver (by the location of the exit wound).
What were they going to do when they got to the sub?
‘Hey, where’s everybody, including our current Chief of Security, off to today?’
That whole thing struck me as an extension of the Miles joke - let’s go to the beach, let’s go to the Orchid, let’s go to the beach.
As pointed out above, undoing everything also messes with the very existance of some folks and the growth of nearly the entire cast. It would be pretty crappy for the writers to take away all that’s happened between Sun and Jin, Sawyer’s personal growth, Hurley’s reconcilliation with his family, etc. just to close the time loop and end the show with everyone back in 2004 stepping off the plane at LAX. I think millions of viewers would feel pretty cheated by that ending.
Plus, we’ve got a whole season left still. It’s can’t take 18 episodes to resolve what happens in the next 4 hours of island time. No, I believe they’ll either try and fail to close the time loop before the season finale (this season) or they will decide not to try at all at the last minute for some reason. That opens up next season to be all about the island’s mysteries revealed and the part the LOSTies will play in the final battle between Richard’s gang, Widmore’s ambitions and the third party that’s emerged recently.
Errrrrr…my suspicion is that this is all pretty much moot. The suggestion right now is that the whole thing at The Swan is “The Incident” and the name of the season finale is…The Incident. So regardless of what they’re trying to do, I think that the end result has been decreed by the writers as failure (The Incident still happens) - albeit, a failure that may end up sending everybody back to the future. The conflict that’s being set up right now is between the people we know and these new strangers that want the statue to stop blocking their sun or whatever, so my assumption is that the current 70s crew’s failure to stop The Incident teaches them a Very Important Lesson that later informs their Great and Colossal War That Could End All of Civilization against like ten guys that crashed on the wrong island.
