I’m just sad that Daniel’s dead. I really enjoyed his character. I love actors who can pull of nervous energy really well (RDJ, Shia).

One of the things I haven’t really gotten, is why all this fighting over the island? I understand it has all these magical secrets and what not, but is it really worth all of the attention it’s gotten from the others and dharma and the 12 other factions that want to control it?

Don’t say that… he can’t be dead.

I seriously want the answer to this by the end of the season. It can not be something answered at the end.

I really liked this episode. I just hope that they don’t bring him back, now that you! can! change your destiny!

Also, that gunfight was like something out of Trailer Park Boys.

Uh, it can heal people and bring people back from the dead. What else is there?

I’m guessing there is more than that. That there’s some kind of bonus for being the beloved others…

I think the question is ‘what’s the greater significance?’ Which is a thread they dredge up every third episode or so between the character-focused episodes.

So we can bring Einstein back to life? Doubtful.

His acting style was very different and expressive. I, too, really enjoyed the character. But I knew the death was coming as soon as he was the one who uttered that any one of them could die. But at the hands of his mother? And she clearly sent him to the island knowing she would do it?

But I also agree that the writers had him have the gun because their plot demanded it, not because the character would have done it. I’m still trying to figure out why Locke stabbed Naomi in the back rather than just walk a couple of paces and smack the phone out of her hand. This was a guy who couldn’t kill his father, and that guy was a proven scumbag.

Well actually it hasn’t done that except once, and that was with Locke. And obviously they were fighting over it way before it did that (and nobody knew it happened anyway so far).

Yeah, the Locke-Naomi thing. Every time I think “oh Locke understands everything, that is why he’s doing what he is doing” it turns out, nope, Locke knows jack shit.

I’m guessing that was the last we see of Des, it seemed like an end point, plus with his recent legal troubles and the show’s pattern …Shame,if so.

Locke believes.

Or rather, wants to believe. He alternates from belief to frustration because true understanding and success has always been elusively out of his grasp. The question is will he turn that transcendent corner? He still has to fix the time stream, and he still seems to be not quite through the door into the club - Jacob remains a mystery to him, that is clearly better understood by a number of people: Richard, Ben, Christian (the Other Dead Meat). But I did enjoy him goading Ben that he finally knew something that Ben was stumbling around in the dark on.

As to Naomi - I’ve always presumed that it was something that the phantom Walt told him as he was in the pit of death shot by Ben. Naomi was leading the expedition that had a whole extremely violent hit squad - he might have been justified, but as it stand it seems as though it is a betrayal of the character, so I am annoyed with it. Locke had always been my favorite character because he always seemed like the most lost of the lost in his life before the island.

Yeah, I didn’t notice but that does actually wrap up his whole story, huh? Damn, so many of my favorite characters just disappearing.

Desmond’s vow to Penny has been a recurring theme, and when Eloise told him the island wasn’t done with him, I took that to mean more than the encounter with Ben. I suppose they could wrap things up now if they had to, but I don’t get the sense that kind of ending is really the best fit within the overall story.

Ehh, not neccessarily, Daniel Dae Kim did in fact get a DUI and he came back for this season. (unlike Anna Lucia and Libby)

As mentioned before, it can apparently heal many maladies, (except Ben’s cancer) revive the dead, ( until you aren’t needed anymore, Mikhail) and oh yeah.
Travel.
Through.
Time.

Act now, and we’ll even throw in the ability to remain almost totally concealed from the outside world and crash planes without killing the passengers!!!

Why wouldn’t you want an island like this?

kinda like when they showed libby at hurley’s mental institution and then totally didn’t leave that thread hanging…

Desmond is currently being accused of sexual harassment (or assault). Maybe he’s next…
