I loved the episode. The end reveal was awesome! Makes you want to rewatch the episode knowing now what Faraday’s mother knew.
Having said that… anyone else upset that Desmon can have Penny but poor Sayid saw his love die? Twice! :( Love conquers all …eeeh… not always.
It also resurrected Christian (Jack’s Dad).
It’s not really clear yet whether that is actually Christian or some other entity using Christian’s body.
Then the body is simply a vessel and it wouldn’t bother to have asked Locke to say hello to its son.
Though I’m still trying to figure out which one of those two that I should refer to as Dead Meat, and The Other Dead Meat.
Yeah, that plot thread probably bothered me the most.
Perhaps not, but we have no real reason to believe it’s not him, whereas much of the things he’s said or done leads a little credence to the possibility of him being the real deal.
Not saying that it couldn’t be someone else, just that I find it the less likely possibility.
The cliffhangers like that are a real problem for me because they get my imagination going, and I start thinking about the show and its possibilities and where the story might be going … And then for them to neglect it means I am left with all those unresolved notions and concepts which I’ve woven into the rest of my perception of the story.
Considering that Locke saying hello to Jack on behalf of Christian had a huge impact on Jack and helped motivate him to go back it wasn’t without purpose. Therefore there is still a strong argument that Christian isn’t really Christian. I don’t think he is, I think Christian is the form that Jacob (whoever/whatever that is) is now taking.
However, given the fact that dogs can’t talk, the fact that Christian said much the same thing to Vincent (“go help my son”) in one of the mobisodes doesn’t suffer from that problem.
Well, it’s also possible Jacob basically possesses Christian; it’s Christian with all of his mannerisms, personality, and memories, but has Jacob in there was well. It could be that way with all the “ghosts” to some extent, as the best way to communicate with people (except for the dog thing).

The fact that Christian has a daughter in Australia (Claire) would seem to indicate he’s travelled some in the past. Given Jack and Claire’s ages, it’s conceivable that Christian could have done that travelling around the time of the Dharma Project and/or shortly thereafter. I have suspected for some time that Christian, much like Widmore and Faraday’s mom, was once on the island but had since been banished or unable to return for some reason. This would even account for his drinking and personality issues. Even his death off-island and seeming ressurection upon return set the stage for Locke to do the same thing. I don’t think Christian is Jacob, I think he’s just Christian and his ressurection by the island has transformed him into it’s willing mouthpiece.
Also, that statue’s head will totally turn out to be Vincent! ;)
Are we all pretty certain that Claire’s been dead for a while?
Nope. I honestly have no freaking clue. She’s supposed to be a regular next season, so my tentative guess is no - she’s just chilling with her dad and enjoying the spooky ass environment or something.

As Brian mentioned, the Incident is likely to have happened. The interesting part will be if it is changed in any way by the Losties intervention.
As far as the third party, I think it is just the Others. It seems late in the game to introduce a new faction. I think the bounty hunter that snatched up Sayid was lying when she pretended like she didn’t know Ben. Her grabbing Sayid obviously served Ben’s purpose (considering Sayid was going to bolt).
As for the shadow of the statue, I’m going to go simple and say its the Temple. To be an Other, I’m thinking you have to have “something magical” happen to you and I’m guessing that happens at the Temple.
We’ll see…
So six parties-
Old Losties
New Losties
Ben and Co
Widmore and Co
Tribal Group
Dharma
And maybe a possible other party (whoever kidnapped Miles unless they’re already one of the above parties).
EDIT: Forgot Dharma

I need to go look up the names but the guy on the beach helping lift the metal box and hanging out with the bounty hunter chick was the same guy who snatched up Miles in the van.

Ilana is the bounty hunter and Bram is the guy in the van.
Where did you get this from? Jin says that he won’t leave the island if there’s a chance Sun is still around and Hurley agrees that they shouldn’t leave because what would they do back in America anyway? He even says that it would make no sense if they came back for nothing and that it would seem wishy washy.
The guys I discuss Lost with at the local Gamestop have posited that Claire died in the explosion at the house where Alex wound up getting shot.
(We see Sawyer carrying her out, but she’s dead psuedo-dead like her dad.
(Christian)
Which is why it was “ok” for her to take off in the middle of the night and leave baby Aaron behind.
