I think Juliet’s done for. When you think about it, going back this season, she’s been quiet too often, not having much material written for her. And the writers clearly want to go back to a love triangle, rather than a love quadrangle.

And yeah, Juliet’s definitely hotter than Kate. But when I listened to Juliet’s actress’s commentary on the DVDs, she’s so different in personality that I was surprised.

So when I watch the show with my wife (who I tease for not studying enough to follow the show), we’ll often pause the DVR for exchanges like this:

“So who’s this guy again?”

“He’s from season 2, he killed so and so, etc.”

“Ah okay…”

Now I expect it to be something like this next year:

“So who’s this guy?”

“He’s the physical embodiment of Apep, the ancient god of evil and chaos. The other guy is possessed by Thoth, the god of order. Together they form a sort of ying and yang for human existence. One never completely overpowers the other in a constant struggle for mankind.”

“Are you shitting me? Who are they really?”

Sounds good to me! As a lover of ancient history and mythology, I say, come on Jan 2010!

According to Entertainment Weekly, while Juliette won’t be a regular next season she’s probably coming back for at least a few episodes.

IE, she’s dead.

I would hope that she doesn’t return as a regular. Don’t give us this long goodbye scene and then just bring her back in the next episode.

You don’t need to. She won’t. Period. Seriously. She’s got at least one regular series iron in the fire and Lost is mutually exclusive with doing anything else (because of it’s location - you cannot do Lost’s filming schedule and still go do anything else that isn’t in Hawaii). My guess is that she’ll show up in some flashbacks and that EVERYBODY who’s been on the show will make an appearance at some point before the finally.

Dead dead, deady dead dead.

My guess is the nuked Losties end up back on the island just after Jacob is killed, and they are who he was referring to when he said “they’re coming” as he died.

Dead is dead.

and yeah Menzo… that sounds like the most reasonable outcome. Which is why I don’t believe it!

I think they will all reappear in 2009 and take jobs together at General Pershing Veterans Hospital.

Oooh. Good catch.

But why would that scare Fake Locke?

I’m not sure I buy that theory, but all of these people were chosen by Jacob. It only makes sense that whatever they’re doing is not good for Anti-Jacob.

Unless it’s a two-man con.

Considering Jacob’s flashback, it seems unlikely that they are working together. And considering the other guy spent something around three centuries, at minimum, trying to kill Jacob it’s probably not a friendly Randolf and Mortimer style wager (although it could be - death might not be an end for them).

The question is, since the nemesis has clearly had some influence in order to bring about Anti-Locke, how much of the events that have gone on has been his influence?

I think the final season will be all about the 1977 folk battling it out with anti-Locke admist whatever temporal changes come about. The “good guys” are probably working for the nemesis.

I’m guessing we’ll see them start to pick sides as we gear up for the final battle.

Nothing works like CONFLICT.

So season 6 is about to start up again on Feb 2. Apparently they are going to rerun the season finale next Tuesday to refresh everyone’s memory.

So what kind of ending would be satisfying to you as an audience member?

Considering that there has been time travel and shapeshifting, I am pretty sure that the resolution isn’t going to be based in a normal reality.

And if that is the case, I almost hope that they go over-the-top in the other direction. I hope that they make it so utterly ridiculous that people’s heads explode.

I’d like to see the island rise up out of the water, revealing itself to be a spaceship, and watch as the aliens return home to their planet with polar bears, egyptian tablets and members of the cast falling off of the side as they blast into space!

Is Chad Allen set to portray Tommy Westphall in the final episode? I’m going to expect something along those lines.

Jacob is Jesus, Focke is the devil, Ben is a Jew, and Jack is Mary Magdalene. We about to get all BSG up in this bitch.
EDIT: Also Sayeed has been blind the whole time.
