I watched 45 seconds and chickened out.

I watched it…
80% of it you have seen before, but the ending is the new stuff. I wont spoil it here.

Oh - this is a real test of will.
Do I resist spoiling Tuesday night, even a little?
Gah!

I’ll watch it for you and tell you if it’s worth.
EDIT, un-spoilery:
2 minutes in is exactly the end of season without new footage, end with the flash.
What comes after the flash is EXACTLY what you can imagine, and it’s really not risky to watch.
I watched.
Nothing that you haven’t heard rumored, and it’s only going to whet your appetite for more.

Episode 1 is online all over (torrents, youtube).
I watched the first 7 minutes now and absolutely nothing goes on (but they sure have fun baiting all the time and building tension out of nothing). I really hope there’s at least a little payoff in the whole ep before it ends…
(real problem is that I forgot all my theories built at the end of season 5. I thought I had achieved a good grasp of the whole thing and had a rather precise idea of how season 6 would go.)
It really starts at 9 EST, Right? Just a clip show at 8??

Screw the show, I am excited about the pre-airing bitching about this Season’s storyline.
Turning on the [Ignore Lost thread] button until the Season is over. That way I can wait to be told it stunk after I have enjoyed it.

That episode should have been called “The Others from Another Other.” Meh.

Confused and confounded me relentlessly…it was like they WANTED to piss me off…loved it anyway.

Loved it.
My only question… What the hell do we call the… LAX… scenes? Flash-sideways?
I’m guessing we’ll find out by seasons end how the island ended up where it is now, and how the passengers ended up where they did. Or not - who the hell can tell?

So I’m going with a “nuclear explosion created a parallel dimension” theory. We’re going to be seeing both sides of the story all season, until about 3 episodes before the finale when worlds merge.
They’re sorta still flashbacks in the sense that it goes back prior to the events happening on the island from the characters’ perspectives. Or something. I have a headache.
Looks like we are following different timelines now but it is possible the airport one was a one shot. But it is still not the restoration of the original one, because rich girl was not on the plane and Desmond was…
So is Sayid alive or is he just Jacob??
Kinda sorry to see Juliette die again…but I guess the new show is more important to ABC.

Also different - Hurley has GOOD luck - the #s didn’t curse him like in this world.
More than that… Desmond never got lost on his around the world trip - he was on the flight - but something is amiss as he disappeared afterward. Like Jack’s father…who maybe was loaded on the plane and maybe wasn’t. Could that Island magic still be lingering?
It’s an interesting device. Show the characters as what would have happened if the crash never happened. I don’t know how long those storylines will be interesting though. Jack being able to fix Locke. Not sure why I didn’t see that one.
Needs more Desmond.
Not just if the crash had never happened, but if the island hadn’t been around at all for the last 30 years, or whatever, since obviously Desmond being on the plane requires more than just it not crashing.
I’m still trying to decide if it’s trying to show that things are worse for the characters now, or if they’re all the “opposite” for characters, or if they’re just different.
It looked like we were being set up for a “Oh, and they’re all so happy–BUT WAIT!!” twist. Hurley mentions he’s the luckiest man alive, not cursed. Sawyer gives him friendly advice. Locke talking to Boone made it sound like maybe he could walk. Then we start getting all the reveals with Charlie getting arrested (ok, arguably still better than being dead), Jack’s father being lost, Locke is still wheelchair bound, trouble for Jin and Sun, etc. But it’s still kind of uneven; we don’t know see anything particularly bad or good happening to Hurley or Sawyer yet, Arzt manages not to blow up, don’t know where Desmond, Rose, etc. are.
My only disappointment is that I was hoping they’d pull out all the stops and have at least a cameo shot of EVERYONE that’s been killed off or left the show. Shannon, Libby, Anna Lucia, Mr. Eko, Michael, Walt (ok, obviously difficult to pull off), Niki and Paulo, etc. Cool to see Boone and Arzt, but I was hoping for everyone. Some of these people could still turn up, and logistically I totally understand that it’s probably not practical to get them all back, but still. I was hoping.
Bernard and the stewardess are the only tailenders to be seen…
I found the LAX losties to be pretty sad. Smoke Locke nailed it when he was talking to Ben:
“He (Locke) was the only one who realized how pitiful the life he left behind really was.”
