Except for Charlie, Eko, Ana Lucia, Libby and Michael. They probably wouldn’t mind a do over. :)

To be fair, he’s the only character that can, with 100% certainty, know that he’s better off and that it’s entirely due to the island.

And even at that, he got conned and killed too! Thanks Smokey!

and the island is underwater…

Yeah, as much as the writers seem to want us to buy the “they’re better on the island!” nonsense, the pile of corpses left in their wake speaks otherwise.

I think you’re jumping the gun on what the writers want you to buy. The show hasn’t ended yet and there’s still more to tell in the alternate time line.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ahhhh!

What happened to his nose?

Thanks, Gabe. Think I just found my new spray for Valve games.

Anyway, I’m not digging the new Season so far. I might tune out. Here was my facebook status right before I watched the new episodes:

Moggraider is not really sure he should play these two Season 6 LOST episodes he just downloaded. Knowing what he knows now, if he could go back in time and deliver a message to Season 1 Mogg, he would probably tell him never to start watching the show. … He might also tell Season 1 Mogg some other, less important lessons unrelated to LOST.

PastMogg’s loss, I guess.

Was its worth 100% dependent on payoff?

Season 1 was a big metalinguistic joke about TV series. It was the american Battle Royale. Filled with gratuitous spooks and illogical plot twists just to show that you could make a good show out of nothing, just through good execution of technique.

Then they saw it worked, grew attached to it, and decided to add a plot that would somewhat give a sense to what was built for the purpose of being senseless.

Lost is basically an exercise to show how much writers can be in control and use their own audience as a joke that the show is ultimately about.

I think it worked perfectly.

Once he’d told Charlie he had to die, Desmond’s presence was no longer required on the plane?

okay, just one more

Was really into this show to begin with but my interest started peetering off around the end of Season 2/start of season 3. Is it worth going back and watching the full thing now that the last season is beginning? Does it look promising or is it still sliding downhill?

Edit: Loving Anti-Bunny’s last post

I can respect Lost as a concept because it’s mainstream entertainment that can pretty much get away with doing absolutely anything it wants within network limitations. I was originally fairly into it, then by about season 3 I just kept watching to see the next thing that made no sense.

As a trained psychologist, I bet I could view the entire series through the lens of mass hysteria, shared delusions, and hallucinations.

I was about to quit after the first 6 episodes of Season 3 but it then picked up quick. They finished in a awesome fashion and the past two seasons were great.

Damn looks like I just quit at the wrong time then, if only I had just stuck it out
