Sure enough.
Maybe it was a delusional expectation fabricated only in my own head, but I’d developed the impression that the show was imparting the idea that these seeming monsters actually had purpose and reason for what they were doing. That they were ultimately just because of shit which was far too serious for us to even comprehend, and which granted them conviction.
But as it turns out they’re just weak-willed drifters who happened to fall in with this guy for some reason.
A strategically-timed candybar is apparently an extremely effective brainwashing technique.
Which could make a great commercial for Snickers.
Hell, one week to be exact.

I really don’t recall it being all that much fun … But my memory sucks, I’ll admit. Hurley’s always cute, sure (especially muttonchop Hurley, perhaps the only man for whom I wouldn’t begrudge a Hummer*) - but was Jack anything other than angsty/moody the whole time?
I mostly recall him throwing a fit and smashing up equipment with properties beyond his reckoning. And Claire’s precious baby.
- Feel free to read that however you like.

Ha, first thing I thought of when Miles said that…
anyway…they sure wiped out alot of people there…
Wow I totally expected Miles to cover up who killed Jacob. Then he outs Ben and has says the classic, “Uh oh.” Great moment.

Edit: …AND directed by MARIO VAN PEEBLES??? Wow. I thought seeing stuff directed by Timothy van Patten (Rome, The Wire, now The Pacific) was weird.
I really liked the episode tonight. It wasn’t “The Constant,” but I think it came pretty close.
Tonight’s was pretty good, but how would Alex end up in L.A.?
Not sure–when did the French expedition land on the island? I always thought it was before the bomb date (1977 right?)…
— Alan
Nah, that would make Alex around 30. I’m guessing there was no Rousseau trip because the island was no longer there.
How long was Sun separated from Jack, Hurley, et al?
It would have been since the Agera plane crash to the last episode so that’d be hard to quantify in “real” time… maybe a week or two?

Emerson and O’Quinn are really the two best leads IMO. The fact that Ben can come off as a sympathetic character after all he has done is pretty amazing.
Yeah, that may be right. I can’t quite put my finger on how much time passed between the crash of the second plane and the explosion that brought all the island losties to the same timeline. Seems like months.
Oh, and raise your hand if you kinda have a crush on Illana.

It’s only been a few days according to the timeline.
I can’t get over how stunning the young woman who plays Alex Rousseau is. If I were ever in her presence and she smiled at me I’d likely be unable to actually form complete sentences.
