They aren’t immortal, they can die by accident, by alt-Locke, by each other… they just can’t kill themselves.

Best potential ending ever.

Actually I think alt-Locke can’t kill them, not directly anyway. Based on what little they’ve revealed about the mystical “rules” (and that random little boy who may or may not have been some incarnation of Jacob), I think he has to manipulate someone else to do the killing of those who Jacob touched (probably including touched non-candidates like Dogen, Richard and Lennon), just like he did with the killing of Jacob.

If alt-Locke could just kill them all, I’m sure he would have by now as he seems to be pretty much unbounded on the island other than by whatever these rules about who he can and can’t kill directly are.

I would totally watch a cop show starring Sawyer and Miles… In my mind, thats the most awesome cop show ever…

Miles: “The dead person is telling me he was killed by a South African racist.”

Sawyer: “I’m getting too old for this shit.”

Alternate timeline Sawyer is reading Watership Down?

Also, I am now making a prediction for something that will happen in this or a future episode…

We will see Faraday in the alternate timeline, and he will totally know whats going on. As in remember the island, or have some knowledge of the island or in some way be the key to this whole thing…

edit to add…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sawyer is moping over Kate again… Please do not start this stupid love triangle all over again…

LOL, I was coming here to post about next year’s buddy cop spinoff.

Sawyer is still the best character in the show…

Was Zoe of the Widmore team the same woman who got arrested in Sawyer’s sting at the beginning of the episode?

I was wondering the same. She was so scruffy I could not tell.

yep just like he did in season one.

Theory: Now that we’re half way or more through this last season and we still don’t know smokey’s name it’s gotta be a name we would recognize like Aaron.

Well, many have said Esau.

No not even close. The woman in the string was Gretchen from Prison Break.

Anyone noticed the subtext? :)

I don’t get it, unless you’re implying the not-so-subtle subtext that he’s speaking to the audience and not the people with him.

Yeah, nothing more than that. The writers are just enjoying torturing us to the point they mock.

For a moment I thought there was an apartment inside the submarine. Also, someone should put Kate out of her misery. She’s ruining Sawyer’s episode just by being there.

Build-up episode, nothing really happens, but amusing at least. Next week is Richard’s episode. It should be interesting.

There are still 8 episodes left - I know we all are hungry for answers, but it’d be pretty disappointing if Locke just sat down right there and explained all the mysteries of the Island.

Show, don’t tell.

Yeah, but that’s Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson - TOTALLY different thing. There’s definitely room for both shows to exist.

I didn’t hate the episode. The best part was the preview for next week, though.

In all seriousness, I wonder if Lindeloff and Cuse have considered spinoffs to pick up after Lost goes away. I’m not necessarily advocating such a course, but it’s gotta be tempting.

They haven’t floated any thoughts in public. The O’Quinn/Emerson idea is apparently Terry’s own personal baby, and he’s writing up a show bible and I think he’s pitching it to Abrams. It’s not quite buddy cop - that was it being too early for me to be posting - but, rather, a show about two hit men with families who have to mux their day job in with their home life.

The only project that I know Lindeloff and Cuse have lined up after this is the next Star Trek movie, though I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Cuse worked on the Hawaii 5-0 reboot, given his history with cop shows featuring Don Johnson. Given the fact that Abrams is in no way wanting for products (at a bare minimum he’s got Fringe still running on Fox for at least another year and it’s almost a certainty that Undercovers will get picked up by NBC), and the fact that his production partners in the past have shown the willpower not to co-opt their franchises (Alias, for example), I could believe that they’re ready for this to be it.
