As for Jack and Locke being constants, I believe they had their chance to go all doe-eyed for each other at the baggage claim area. Neither of them seems to haunted by that meeting. Locke even tore Jack’s card up.

Also, I can’t help but wonder what the hell is going on media-wise back in 2007 civilization. They must be baffled that all(?) of the Oceanic 6 disappeared again on another plane crash!

I got the impression that the other 2004 people (other than Libby and Mrs. Widmore) could only be made aware of the situation after Desmond did his whole crossover thing.

He wasn’t trying to die at all, but when the bag became lodged in his throat and his OOBE started, he changed his mind and was totally happy with drifiting away.

I think that’s probably accidental - he acts a bit like the real Locke when the kid isn’t around too. He just got his signature line off after meeting the kid. I think they were trying to imply in that scenario that The Lockeness Monster is an awful lot of Locke on the inside, rather than suggesting that Unexplained Small Boy screws with his brains. That’s what I got, anyway.
