’ … And that pilot looks like he stepped off the set of a Burt Reynolds’ movie,’ is one of the reasons I’m still watching.
Could not stop giggling every time Lapidus appeared after the Burt Reynolds line.
Why did Sawyer behave as though he’d never met Lapidus before? Didn’t they get to know each other when they were on the island before and Lapidus was piloting the helicopter?
Oh, and when Jin and Sun finally got back together… something got in my eye. Damn all this pollen.

I believe Sawyer referred to him as ‘Chesty’. Nice.
Fantastic episode. I wish the first half of this season had moved at this pace.
I went to watch this week’s episode and realized I hadn’t watched last week’s. I know it’s TV and all, but why in the holy hell do you need multiple sticks of dynamite to disable an airplane that’s sitting on a deserted island? Shoot the engines. Shoot the instruments. Shoot out the damned tires so it can’t take off.
Again, I know, I know … it’s TV. Still, it’d be nice if just once at least one person on this show acted as if the island’s main power isn’t consuming every last scrap of common sense from all who visit.
Considering what happened in Europe these past few days, I’m surprised they didn’t try and use the dynamite to create a volcano eruption to stop the plane from flying. TOPICAL
I’m calling it right here: this is the episode this show jumped the shark. That stuff with the day/night retcon was just a warning.

Did anyone else notice that the boat appeared to anchor in the exact same cove that they left from?
It looked like it at first with that rock outcropping, but once they walked inland a little bit it was somewhere else.

I thought it kinda sucked for an episode.
It seemed largely uneventful compared to the other episodes.
When Sun and Jin were running to each other, I half expected the pylons to still be on and fry one or both of them.
You watched the wrong episode. Last night’s episode had Claire turning away from Locke, Sayid on that path as well, Jin and Sun finally reuniting, Widmore turning on everyone, Jack completing his transition to a man of faith, and everyone meeting up with everyone in the alternoverse.
That episode felt more like it was a necesary set-up for an incoming awesome episode than anything. It was mostly boring despite all that happened, but I am looking forward to next week.
There’s no episode next week - they’re taking a one-week break because God hates us.

I have to agree - this episode was about moving people around to where they have to be - which bodes well since they usually do that the episode before the season finale.
Can’t wait till May…
Thought they already announced no breaks this season??
My wife and I missed what Sun and Jin said to each other because we both had that same thought and were laughing too hard ot hear the dialog. I mean, they even made a point to show the pylons in the scene, so we were just wait for “BZZZTT!!!”. =)
It’s looking more and more like everyone who predicted the ending of Jack and Locke replacing Jacob and Blackie (well, OK, still Blackie, just using Locke’s body now) is going to be right. There will be some kind of epic showdown, with various characters acting heroically, then everything will somehow reset or work out except that the cycle will start all over again with a new Guardian for Blackie-Locke.

When they moved the finale to the 23rd (Jack’s Number) they announced the one week break.
