FUCKING DVR
It cut it off right as Hurley started sobbing. What did I miss?
Jack sobbing.
Also… Cut to Locke & Claire, Locke telling Claire the sub sank, her asking if that meant they were all dead, and him saying, no not all of them and then stalking off menacingly.
Joke’s on you, sucka!
Though of course there’s always the alt.universe where Jin & Sun likely live happily ever after.
I’m still predicting everyone but Jack dies in the original timeline.
Wha that is cool, I had no idea really.
And yes I’m just padding my thread post count. Nyah!

I’ll agree that it was kind of an odd decision to kill off four characters with 3 episodes still to come, but between a final redemption for Sayid and an incredibly emotional and loving, although unhappy, ending for Sun and Jin left me satisfied. The divergent timeline is just getting amazing too. It’s interesting that the absence of Jacob has not just changed the key moments in the characters’ lives where he interacted with them but their entire lives. Jack saying “I wish you’d believed in me” was the highlight of the episode for me.
That’s my guess too. He replaces Jacob guarding the island. That’s why the show ends on the 25th Jack’s number.
Also, I have a problem when parents die in together in a loving (and stupid) way leaving behind a child. How selfish can you be.
“Trust you, Doc? Last time I did that my girl friend got axed from the show and is now fighting Vs! So she still has a paying gig and I’ve only got a salary for a couple more episodes! So screw you, I’m pulling the wires…”
(one fast ticking bomb later…)
“…oh that’s just great! Now I’m gonna get burdened by worse guilt for being responsible not just one character’s death, but four. Damn all plot symmetry.”
So the blood bath reaches a fever pitch. They just couldn’t let Jin and Sun live happily ever after (unless of course the alternate timeline is what they are saving). But then, we all knew that they wouldn’t be the final candidates. And Sayid was pretty obviously going to either die, or make a noble sacrifice and die anyway at some point, so that’s not a big surprise. Losing the pilot at this particular point is, I suppose - how’s UnLocke gonna get off the island now? Bummer regardless, I liked him. So the lovable fat guy (fat aids in buoyancy, by the way) and the love triangle remain, along with the crazy half-sister and the magnetic resistant guy that UnLocke wants dead but isn’t, are all that are left. And which wins out - the blood bath time-line, or the alternate?
Can’t blame Sawyer for not trusting Jack, though.

Right before he stalked off menacingly, didn’t she ask him where he was going, and he said “to finish what I started,” or am I confusing this with a different scene?
Maybe he didn’t believe the island would ever let them go, so his only options were to die with her then, or leave her and die separately before long. Or maybe the writers wanted to axe a few more characters, and they figured that after keeping those two apart for so long, the Sun-Jin fans would be spitting up blood if they were separated again.

I’m not crying, there’s just something in my eye.
Oooh, Lost finale extended by half an hour:
The producers of ABC’s hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show’s hugely anticipated series finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half-hour.When the “Lost” finale airs Sunday, May 23, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will air instead of the local news, with the “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost” post-finale special remaining at 11:30 p.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on Tuesday night’s episode of Kimmel.

That was some serious WTF.
At least it will interesting to see how they wrap it all up, but I get a feeling I’m not going to like it.
It’s like everything they’ve done has been for nothing and all this could have happened in season one.
In addition to being bouncy, fat is buoyant, too.
9 to 11:30!? Ugh. I’m going to be dying the next morning.
And I had no idea about mine. I guess I like this show…
One thing I can’t figure out is how Kate in no longer a candidate. I thought everyone else crossed off the list died?
I don’t know if preempting local news is going to make local stations very happy.
Local news stations can suck it.
My money is on Kate being the new Jacob. I think Unlocke crossed her off the list as part of his sabotage act, so Jack and Sawyer would think she needs protecting.
I did bills through last night’s episode. That is not great.
I’m not entirely sure that we’ve seen the last of all the dead people in the sub, though. I wouldn’t be shocked to see one of them show up again (specifically, The Fahey, though if his head was disconnected or something and I just missed it because I was deep in finance do feel free to correct me).
However, the preview scenes indicate that next week is…Jacob/Other Guy flashback episode? It actually contained a shot of Unexplained Boy. I do like that we’re coming to a neat close.
Seems like a safe bet that UnLocke’s problems have nothing to do with physical transportation, it’s only the rules that are keeping him there.
Gremlins did that. I didn’t write that. Nope, not me.
(I was just looking at my own message and wondering what the hell happened to “buoyant” - must be some weird connection to Hurley’s rotund figure and overdosing on the NBA playoffs)

An italian website seems to have six pages of the screenplay of the last episode that continue the small leak of the call sheets a couple of weeks ago. It seems authentic. Any news out there?
If someone does, please put a spoiler warning on it. I don’t want to read any official spoilers for a show I’ve watched for half a decade that is about to have a grand finale.
