First off, I was glad to see the Widmore crony woman get killed. I hated her.
Next, I agree with Hemalin. It’s high time Sawyer (or really anyone) just throws their hands up and stomps the fuck off.
Finally, while I appreciated seeing Anna Lucia again, I have no idea why she would agree to go to jail for only $125K. Because she will go to jail. “Uhh… Yeah, so what three prisoners?”
Yeah, seriously. “One of you… will have to protect the island.” “Oh ok, I’ll do it, no problem.” “Great, that’s that then, see you guys later.”
This week’s wasn’t bad, but man, for a show that’s been dragging on for this long they sure do rush through some of these things.

I’m pretty sure after releasing prisoners, she wouldn’t be dumb enough to continue to her original destination… unless the entire transfer was faked and all record of the three of them being incarcerated was being expunged. Missing prisoners who didn’t exist in the first place might be how Sawyer gets dragged in.
I assume everyone is going to end up at the concert one way or another. It would be hilarious if Nikki and Paulo make an appearance.
I don’t think Richard is dead. If he is that was the worst writing ever.
Sure. Her only other option is to immediately go on the lam, but again, $125K doesn’t seem enough to start a new life.
Wasn’t there a reference a few seasons ago about Ben and Widmore not being able to hurt each other?? Hence the whole killing Penny thing? An oops, or was the “island done with” Widmore?
Was the island actually done with anyone or just Jacob had no further us for them??
Probably more accurate than my point of view.
You’ve got the order wrong.
Watch episode first
Bitch second.
When was the last time a cop went to jail…for anything? Fired, yeah, jail, no.
What strikes me about the end as it creeps up is how simplistic the resolution turns out to be. Two guys fighting over a light source, bringing people to the island to use as pawns. The entire six years of show, with its mysteries, crazy phenomenons, byzantine characters and relationships… I mean holy Jebus time travel is even involved!
And yet it’s really about two guys having a tiff. It just feels weird.

Not to mention the whole secret sacred society of “others” at the temple who proved to be totally useless.
To be fair Sawyer did kind of say why should I have to fix your mess.
And Widmore didn’t seem to be too afraid of dying…unless he knows something.
Here’s a guess: Ben knows he can’t kill Widmore, but he can shoot him and make it look an awful lot like he killed Widmore. Then, Ben says: “Don’t you have some other people to kill?” and leads Smokey away. Widmore gets up, and goes about his business, sans Zoey, who nobody liked anyway.
But thats what all old school mythology boils down to… I mean - just look at the great old Greek stories. Feels like half of 'em can be summed up as:
Hera and Zeus have a spat. Mortals suffer.
The difference is that in the old myths you knew that from the beginning. Withholding that info and having it be the big reveal after six seasons is fucking lame, lazy, cocktease writing at its worst.
They’ve been building towards this ending for years now. Its not like just did a bait and switch from some other concept in the last few episodes…
Plus - the big themes of choice/destiny, science/faith, etc have all still been there this season. Its just being personified in the Man in Black vs Jacob/Jack

I am definitely ready for the big finale now. The only thing I can add is that I really didn’t expect the massive continuing bloodbath on the island. It just makes me think that the alt-universe will somehow be a huge part of the final resolution.
Oh and is Rose sick in the alternate universe?
Dying in fact.
She dumped that factoid on Locke to stop him from starting a pity party for his legs and his inability to take manly-man jobs.
Here’s one random thing (among 10,000 others) bugging me now:
Since Jacob supposedly brought all these people to the island on purpose (never mind all the poor nameless dumbfucks, including the pilot, who had to die just cuz they got stuck on the same plane with these fabulous Candidates), are we now suppose to assume that Jacob “planned” for Desmond not to push the button, thereby causing the anomaly that makes the plane crash?
Forget it, Jeff – it’s Losttown.
I like to think (given the probable lack of a concrete explanation we’ll actually receive from the show) that Jacob’s powers work in mysterious ways. Once he chooses the Candidates, the universe conspires to move them toward the Island, taking whatever available path needed. So Des blowing up the plane happened to be the way they got there, but if Desmond hadn’t been in the hatch, the universe would have created some other way.
As far as the casualties, well, they are (supposedly) fighting for the survival of the planet. What’s the death count of the show, couple hundred? Maybe a thousand? Set that versus the entire population of the Earth. Acceptable losses, right?
Sorry, man, but I expect more from a team of highly-paid writers and producers who have repeatedly failed to come up with anything better than or even on par with all the other theories they’ve poo-pooed over the past six years. They would have been better off cherry-picking ideas from the fan forums and just running with it.
