Because Tank was a much better Matrix operator.

Huh? What? The actor that plays Micheal in Lost wasn’t Tank in the Matrix…

He was Link in the Matrix sequels. Remember him?

Yeah, me neither. Nary even a tri-force.

Fuck I sure hope Michael gets bounced. Good actor, I agree (Oz) - but man, that character is irritating. But most likely he’ll be some sort of “off the island” sub-plot. I assume that the Widmore woman is not on the island, but instead back on Earth.

Lots of interesting stuff revealed on this show. However, the blind experiment thing didn’t make sense at all. Ok, the Pearl was the real experiment, but that doesn’t really make sense. Why would they take their primary source of data (the notebooks) and ditch them in a field in the middle of nowhere. Even if they never planned to read them, good scientific methodology says you keep them. Stupid.

I’m looking forward to the next season. I imagine Locke and Echo are both still alive, and we’ll see how on the first episode.

So, we’re going to get and 8 episode “mini season” October through November, along with a mini-finale.

Then we get 16 episodes in a row in the spring.

My friend L and I have been watching Lost in the past two weeks and we are 1/3 of the way through season 2; thus, for spoiler reasons, I won’t be checking this thread for responses to this post for a week or two. Nevertheless, I can’t resist posting this right now.

L suggested that we pick teams, and volunteered to pick first. She picked Jack, for both doctor and crush reasons. I demanded the next two picks as compensation for being forced to pick second. L concurred.

The teams are:

L:

  1. Jack
  2. Said
  3. Michael
  4. Hurley
  5. Claire

Me:

  1. Locke
  2. Jin
  3. Sun
  4. Kate
  5. Sawyer

Comments:

I know, given my reading of the first 25 pages of this thread, that Locke will be widely regarded as a solid choice, but I expect some heat about my Jin and Sun picks. I took Jin early because he is resourceful and tough, and Sun because she brings some doctoring skills to the table (and, as L points out, Sun immediately increases the value of my Jin pick).

With Locke, Jin, and Sun, I have very solid food gathering. I lack leadership at this point, however, so I was overjoyed to see Kate still on the board at pick 7. Sawyer at pick 9 is an investment, as his character seems to be developing in maturity; he also gives me a second couple (Jin/Sun and Kate/Sawyer) for repopulation purposes.

L says she would have chosen Said at pick 2 if she’d gone second, so she was happy I passed him up. I say that anyone who would fancy Shannon is mentally suspect, but L feels that Said’s leadership and mechanical know-how more than offsets this issue. I must agree that with Jack and Said on her team, she has an insurmountable technology lead on me. My team can feed itself and little else.

Her third and fourth picks (Michael and Hurley) give her team a nice balance of verve and cohesiveness. L’s team would get along famously. L explains that with her pick of Hurley, she transitioned from choosing useful people to simply picking people with lower liability.

We went on to pick 20 people altogether; the only character not chosen was Shannon, despite her womb, who is as useless as she thinks she is. L suggests that Said’s value was higher to her since she never planned to choose Shannon for her team in the first place.

I don’t understand. Is this for a softball game or something?

I didn’t understand either, but it didn’t stop me from going ahead and picking.

Maybe it’s for a LOST rpg. How many hitpoints does Hurley get?

Doesn’t matter. He’ll take extra damage from most weapons since he’s a L sized creature.

He was also the guy who got eaten by the bear in The Edge, which makes his encounter with the polar bear in Lost all the more funny.

I thought that my “Comments” section would be enough explanation of why we were picking teams. To survive! Bonus missions: (1) Figure out what’s happening on the island. (2) Get rescued.

(3) Beat up Sawyer.

(4) Shag Evangaline.

I think what happened in the last episode sapped away any final hints of likability he had. I doubt many people would be shedding tears if he never showed up on the show again. If he does show up though, I want him killed in the first episode.

Agreed. By Hurley.

I could use a vaca on an island with my guitar and a bunch of heroin.

Where do you guys get all this stuff?

Bumping in anticipation of season 3

This thread is already monstrous. Perhaps a “Lost Season 3” thread (in the proper forum ;)) would be appropriate.

No. It wouldn’t be appropriate at all.

This is the one true Lost thread.
