N00b fight!!!

Man I just had a long post about nanotechnology explaining the “psychic” aspect as well as a bunch of stuff. And the damn form timed out.

Just take my word for it, nanobots explain everything from the black cloud to the polar bear.

And I was wondering if the EMP pulse was supposed to destroy them all, failsafe wise. And if it didn’t, does this mean that a bunch of rogue nanites are loose in the world now?

Sorry if this idea was already posted earlier in the thread.

We talked about nanobots here about two years ago. I still believe they’re involved, and we’ll find out how in about two more years.

Someone wake me up when that happens. The show has gone from an intriguing mystery to the Castaway Misadventure Hour.

Lost is starting to get tedious and boring.

I’m in the psychic camp too, rather than time travel, but hard to say with the craziness of Lost…

Actually, I liked this episode a lot more than the first two of the season, mostly because I like the “secrets of the island” plots a lot more than the prisoner-esque plots they started introducing. Locke’s sweat lodge trip was good, though I wish they’d used it to do more creepy foreshadowing.

Precognition, not psychic, just to split that particular hair. From a strictly real-world standpoint, precognition is just as physics-busting as time travel of objects, so I don’t think it really changes much.

Hey Rich, I need some money. Can you go to the ATM Machine over lunch? :P

I dunno about precognition being all that physics busting, at least any more than super healing or black smokey monsters. I mean, when you knock a glass of milk off the table I can use my “precog” abilities to see into the future that there will be a shattered glass and a big mess on the floor a very short time later. Maybe Desmond’s prediction window is just longer. :)

Also, I’m not sure about the vibe that nothing happened in the episode… we found out the fates of Desmond, Eko, and Locke… Locke is now clearly established as the leader with Jack gone… Eko is in some kind of a coma… Desmond has something funky going on… There are more polar bears, and they collect tonka trucks… There’s nothing left of the hatch…

It’s the third episode of the third season! Every single mystery should have been explained! That way we’d have the rest of the season to concentrate on having beach parties.

Seriously, everyone who says “They’re not giving us any answers!” should probably stop watching now. This is not the show you think it is.

prediction != precognition. Unless you’re suggesting that Desmond predicted that Locke would give a speech promising to go after the lost Losties, but chose to speak as if he’d already seen it? Transfer of information from the future is pretty damn physics-busting.

Hello and welcome to Season Two!

Good Lord, there’s a ton of crying around here.

Really,if you don’t like the show anymore,don’t watch…

What I really don’t like is the broken h-scroll on this thread… and yet, I can’t seem to tear myself away…

FYI: I’m like the Einstein of the bear community.

(Charlie had 3-4 snort-inducing lines for me in this last episode.)

h-scroll is still good at 1680 horiz resolution with maximized browser. A couple more pages and I’ll have to buy a new monitor, though.

On a 1920 widescreen, Firefox’s default font size will break h-scroll in about 12 more pages.

I don’t want to know everything, I just want to know something. There are a thousand open threads - would it kill them to close a few of them? What was the black smoke thing? What’s the deal with the bears? What’s the deal with the fact that some “others” can apparently walk whisper quiet through the forest? What happened to the French chick? What happened to Desmond’s girlfriend who we saw at the end of the second season?

Hey writers - I’m not asking for all the answers, just some of them.

Well, you have gotten one answer so far: The bears are from the zoo at the Hydra.
