I liked this one as well. I’m not going defend it because I don’t really care if people like it.
If you don’t want to watch the show, don’t.

Highlights:
Sawyer calling the guy with the bandage on his nose “Chinatown”.
Jack being badass when chained to the gurney. “I don’t care… about making you feel better.”
But I don’t know, this story with Desmond is weird. And I still don’t know why anyone has asked about the hatch.
I liked this one.
Sawyer is becoming the star of the show. I’m not sure where they’re going with Desmond, but the story of “the captivity” is proving to be much more entertaining than I had expected.
Sawyer should have known the pacemaker was an obvious con based upon the total lack of skill of the guy with the needle. If they had had the medical capability of putting in a pacemaker, this guy would not have been doing the anesthesia. But Kate made my heart rate go up too.:)
Yeah, it would have made better sense from andediting standpoint to have Sawyer go in for his “operation” after they hauled Jack through. Then he could have been made to believe that Jack had done the actual operation.
I’m wondering if the two island bit is a con, too.Or did they already forget the bears? Guess they swam the channel??

Nah, it’s not a con. It’s mentioned in the pearl briefing tape that the staff will be rotated out (by FERRY) to the barracks every 8 weeks.
Polar bears are quite comfortable in water and could easily swim that.
So did I hear the Others right, they have a submarine?
Sayid isn’t quite as much of a jackass if they used a sub defeat his ambush.

Re: Desmond, I think we can safely call it precognition now. I dunno, I’m just not as interested as I was before, I think they might have wrapped up too much stuff at the end of season 2. The mystery was what kept me coming back.

Yes, the did specifically mention a sub. Also, at one point Mr. Friendly tells Benry about the loss of all communications and satellite since the “purple light in the sky”. This would seem to indicate a form of EMP pulse, lending more credence to the nanotechnology theory.
I think Trixie needs a better agent.
Gut-Shot dead girl.
She played a character on Deadwood named Trixie.
Oh,ok,never saw the show…

I disagree. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Lost, it’s that dead people don’t seem to stay clasically dead (e.g. Jack’s Dad, Boone).
Plus there’s always the coincidental run-ins that happen in the flashbacks.
I think we’ll be seeing more of TrixColleen.
More Deadwood alum! Though technically speaking, Kim Dickens was in last season as well, for some reason it didn’t really click till the last episode there… who will we see next? Will Ian Mcshane make an appearance? Maybe he’s the guy with the eyepatch that was in the preview…

Hmmm…LOST could use a few more people saying “Cocksucker” every 60 seconds.

Did anyone catch the argument with the others holding the syringe before Sawyer blacked out? It went something like:
“Where does it go??”
“Right in the sternum, you know, just like the movie!”
…then, during the commercial break, my son says: “That was trippy.” I’m so proud of him.

He’s still a jackass. They could have swum to the boat in the dark. The boat was the bait and Sayid got in a tree thinking they’d just walk up to it and along the doc. He should have known better.
A sub surfacing should also have been fairly visible IF Sayid had been watching the boat. And the sub has to be large enough to carry the 5 or 6 people who took the boat. I don’t still have it on my tivo but didn’t weren’t the people who got on the boat all dry? So the sub was close to the boat. And Sayid and Jin’s view of the boat was ‘bow-on’. Could be sub at a distance, plus inflatable boat, etc. But Sayid’s an idiot savant who’s talent is torture, not ambushing.
The boat wasn’t the bait – the fire was the bait. There was no reason to believe they knew he had a boat.
Which is not to say they shouldn’t have had someone guarding/watching from the boat, in case the Others had a boat.
