It actually explains quite nicely why the ambush didn’t work - the Others never were on the island.
It also says that there ARE other Others - the silent, kidnapping ones, that DO live on the island. The civilized ones just come onto the island via TNG-style landing parties.
Zeke said when they met the first time that Michael will “never find us” - he’s sure as shit right. But they must’ve been tracking him.
I am jonesing for the next episode. The preview clip showed some interesting shit.
Finally, I would like to express my love and affection for the writers of Lost. Hopefully I will never have to hear “WALLLLTTTT!!!” again.
Replace Jin with Wu. COMEDY GOLD.

the two islands are pretty darn close to each other… Jack and his Intrepid crew walked their island quite a bit and explored high areas of the island. Desmond sailed around the island (we think) and recently Sayid, Jin and the Wife sailed for a bit too. I am surprised, that for an island only twice the size of Alcatraz, none of the survivors haven’t seen to second island by now.

Oh… that other island. We didn’t think you noticed it, so we didn’t think we needed to mention it. Until now. Yeah, that’s it.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain… :-\
Anybody still think the writers aren’t making this shit up as they go?
Desmond said he sailed West, and kept going west and ended up back there again.
I imagine Sayid did not sail to that side of the island–if I were the Others’ I would have set up my fake town well away from the channel between the two islands.
I don’t think anyone has walked all the way around the beach.

regarding Desmond and the lightning strike… did you it interpret as Desmond (once again being prophetic) saving the lives of Claire and her baby by redirecting the lightning bolt from hitting their canopy?
Also, do you smell a Love Triangle between Desmond, Claire and the Hobbit?

Except that it’s a huge friggin’ boat with a huge white sail on a moonlit bay at the end of a dock. And he know’s they’ve got that little motor boat (doesn’t know that Michael was given it).
Wait a minute. I don’t have it on my tivo anymore, but didn’t we see the plane crash on the same island that Benry’s crew lives on? He sent Ethan and the other guy off to run to the different areas. There was no mention of sub or boat as I recall.
This “other island” deal may be just yet-another-con. (Not my original idea, saw it on these boards or some others).
Well, except for the French lady who has been there 14(?) years and never even suggested another island as a possible location for the Others she hates.
I lean toward the con,or just making things up with no care for consistancy theory.

Does anyone else think that Ben’s group and the crash survivors are going to eventaully team up to fight a mysterious greater threat? They’ve humanized Ben’s group enough, especially in this last episode, to where they’re losing that X-Files bogeyman edge. The show is going to need another suspense hook.
I think they’ll stretch out the captive/conflict angle for quite awhile, but I do think they’re going to end up on pretty much on the same team.
Yeah, I suppose they could have had another base over there with those houses and then torn that down. Or maybe it is a con, especially since the mystery map had everything together on one island. Good call on the French lady, Lloyd.
God,I hope not, “our team” are really overdue for some revenge…

Ben was already tortured, and Trixie (or whoever) was killed, but I didn’t say that there wouldn’t or shouldn’t be a reckoning. I agree that the audience needs one at this point.

Nobody on the other team seems too concerned about the two “Others” that they popped with their rifles on the way to the ambush at the end of last season either.
Next week’s episode is a must for fans. 1 major event which I won’t spoil for those who don’t want to know.
Ps what the hell is that machine?

They claimed to install a pacemaker?
I seriously doubt that, they’re just screwing with his mind…
I figured they had cameras on the cages (what zoo doesn’t) they see him doing something physical they make the watch beep.
Did you see the episode? (I am assuming no).
Yes, they claimed a pacemaker was installed, but later admitted that it was a con.
No, they did not make the watch beep. The watch was a real heart monitor (as Ben tells Sawyer at the end).

Here’s what I want to happen - I want them to look into one of those black and white monitors and see Mulder and Sculley staring back at the camera.

So what if there’s another island? Even if the losties or french lady had seen it they would have no reason to suspect it would be anything other then just another secluded island.
I really liked this episode. The Pulp Fiction reference and the “I don’t care how you feel” response that Jack gave the lady was awsome.
It’s possible this is just a separate area.
