Yup!
Nimrodel is where many of us are at. I should be on later tonight after 9PM Pacific, so IM me in game (Cindalin) and I’ll get you in our Qt3 kin!

what is an easy place to level low to mid 20s? I am a little tired of Breetown… send other good places please? (solo pls) ty
You could always quest in the shire or over in the dwarf or elf starting areas, and then once you hit level 20 the Lone Lands and North Downs open up. I just ran my new dwarf guard alt through that progression (Lone Lands), with some stop over in the Bree area for the epic quest and some Great Barrow work.

havent played in six months… i noticed the fog of war has been lifted on all of my ingame world maps… u too? what gives?
Yea. A recent change with the last update. It’s nice but I miss the fun of exploring a new region for the first time and unlocking it. I should be on later. I’ll see if you are around!

what was the reason for lifting the Fog? what’s the advantage?

I innocently walked into the Hall of Fire(?) in Rivendell last night and maaaan, there’s stuff on RP servers that are just plain wrong. 25 65 lvl elves standing around ROLEPLAYING their hearts out … it’s so badly bad in a very bad way that I can’t help but feel bad about it.
Somehow I never thought beings thousands and thousands of years old behaved like emo teens with serious look-at-me-issues.
Otherwise, that server is kinda cool.
Still sounds better than Goldshire on WoW RP servers shudder
Which server?
RP is the same as anything else. There is good and bad, but a lot of people who are drawn to playing elves are the same ones that enjoy playing vampires.
That said elf emo-ness is certainly in the lore especially in the ending of the third age.
i’ve been playing this to the exclusion of just about everything else for the last few weeks. i had a level 37 warden from when i played last year but i decided to start over and i’ve leveled my captain to 41.
This game has sort of taken over my playing time as well trying to get my main warden up to 65 with the epic books done. After being disappointed with moria overall I have to say that I love mirkwood. Great atmosphere, easy to quest so far.
I tell myself that once I’m at 65, I can get back to my other games but now I find myself wanting to work on my mid 20s burglar. Not sure what separates lotro for me but it’s the only mmo I’ve never gotten bored with.

I’m kinda in that camp too that don’t really get bored. I burned out a bit in late winter after our small but wonderful Qt3 kin folded but am now back with a vengeance. It’s probably a combo of the lore and the world. And the crafting. Jeez, I’ve become a total crafting whore and as I just can’t stand running through the world with my Woodworker Warden and leaving all those Rich Platinum deposits unmined, I’ve got a Explorer Hunter at the same level and some poor crafting schmucks sitting around Esteldin, Rivendell and Thorin’s Hall waiting for the next shipment. I’ve got six chars that all get play time as it is.
Also, the Evendim overhaul is totally awesome. No swimming needed, smart questlines that move you around the area and that don’t require you to run back to quest-givers all the time and also really, really excellent rewards. The first quest hub in Evendim (there’s also one in the north of the Shire I haven’t done called Northcotton Farms) rewards you with the best lvl 30-34 shield in the game. For my Warden, I can combine the Evendim Warden set with Garb of the Woods to have better armor and shield than can be crit-crafted even at lvl 35-40. Getting to Ally of the Wardens is now a cinch and also totally worth it this time around as all faction gear has been completely revamped. As I don’t Skirmish (I know, I know) I’m very partial to gear that you get out in the world through quest, not in some disturbance in the time-space continuum.
Someone asked the name of the RP server, it’s Laurelin. It’s weird cause the globallff is full of bored teens with shit for brains, yet you also get nice events like this kin that had a pop quiz on Middle-Earth in Bree a few nights ago. I think I won, too.

Hey, the Qt3 kin didn’t fold. It’s just…smaller.
Anyway, a number of us are still on Nimrodel. Feel free to drop by. Tends to be busier on weekends.

I should have been clearer. It was the Euro-Qt3 kin that folded. I have started two chars on Nimrodel and might pop in from time to time but priority now is getting one char to Lothlorien on Laurelin.
Just fyi, you will have to skirmish at endgame to earn a mat required to make 2nd age level 65s (Symbols of Celebrimbor). You may want to start polishing up your skirmish skills early on, as skirmishes don’t really get easier as you level up…they tend to get harder. Then easier, as you get better gear ;)

I want to pre-order Isengard to get some of the bonuses they offer… just not sure which edition I should get.
The Free-to-play switch still confuses me regarding what is free and what isn’t… to make matters worse I was VIP for 3 months so now I am really confused. I have the Moria Expansion (which is how I got my 3 months VIP) and that is the only XP I have. I am no longer subscribing so I am Free-to-Play right now with a Premium account.
So I am eyeballing the $50 Isengard Legendary edition… it gets me a bunch of stuff including:
Access to the Path of the Fellowship Quest Packs including Trollshaws, Eregion, Lothlórien and Moria plus the Mirkwood Quest Pack as a special bonus
Of all that stuff listed above… how much of it do I already have? (ie. is it worth for me to buy the Legendary Edition or just the basic edition)?

someone did a price breakdown comparing LE to 1 year VIP – pre-order LE gives 900 more TP and saves $50 – that’s the LE + $49 TP sale
sold! I just bought myself the LE

Well, AFAIK, those drop in Instances (or Dungeons) and I’m fine with doing those in Fellowships or what-have-you. I am not, for my present main anyway, overly fond of the Skirmishes where you run around with a pet like Trouble in Tuckborough and so on. I’m not into the game for the z0mg RAID GEAR!!! and already have a hard time not overlevelling the content I enjoy playing.

Umm, you get 500 TP a month for the 12 month VIP … so that’s 6000 TP. The LE doesn’t top that, does it? If you keep your VIP characters I assume its’ no biggie but if you start a new one you will be pretty restricted. But OK, good to know and I’m way to tired to do any math.
Now do the price breakdown for someone with a lifetime sub!
