I looked at both options and decided the non-legendary edition made more sense given a lifetime sub. YMMV.

Did the same thing; also lifetime sub.

No the LE comparison also includes the $12 month sub

I wish there was a way to see what zones and such I’ve purchased on my account. I’m not sure which I already own that are included with the ROI expansion!

Just curious. Anyone else that bought a lifetime sub from beta (over four years ago) still playing?

I don’t think any other MMO that has ever offered a lifetime sub has turned out as well as lotro.

I’ve even ok with how they’ve treated lifetimes with free-to-play when they transitioned, and how they have the option still out there.

not that I"m playing often enough. I just logged on after a few months of sporadic playing, and my minstrel…has a 2nd age ilvl65 songbook at level 1 bound. Huh. When did I possibly pick that up!!! When did I log in last?!

The math is too hard to deal with, vs. my level 70 (ilvl60) songbook with all t6 legacies for healing, to decide whether to make it a healing songbook. Thank god the new book has the legacy for +%tactical damage, to start; perfect for solo leveling in the fall. Especially as they’re basically blowing up how you play a minstrel for the next expansion, no way to guess which might be better at level cap (or whether I should decon and get a 3rd age ilvl75 item.

oh, wait, does everyone know they’re blowing up the minstrel(fourth and most recent in a dev blog series in the HUGE changes to my main)? along with stat caps, introducing a new raid-relevant stat, and updating most classes?

Yup. I’ve been following the Warden changes and they’re rather significant. I still think there’s a lot of work to be done on the class but this looks to be a major move in the right direction.

By the way, I’m playing again (Gaffyn, 65 Warden on Nimrodel). I got really into theorycrafting the new relic/LI system and have spent a bunch of time working on my character. My goal is to attempt some crazy solo runs (solo School/Lib for example) and maybe try out the Moors a bit before the expansion. If anyone needs help with anything just let me know though I’ll warn you that my tank skills are a bit rusty.

Is there anyone on Nimrodel right now that can make me one or two level 65 2nd age weapons? I have most of the important mats and would be happy to donate gold to cover labor and the rest of the mats.

I didn’t buy the lifetime sub in the beta, I ended up playing the free trial and then jumping on during a lifetime sub sale (down to $199). I think I’ve played the game for 3+ years so my cost has gotten down to about $5 a month. Probably the best $200 I’ve spent on gaming.

My main is Brakkis. I can make 65 2nd age weapons (well, the metal ones; not spears/bows/crossbows/clubs)…just need the following:

2 mithril infused khazad-steel ingots (1 mith flake makes 3 ingots)
1 symbol of celebrimbor (get it from skirmishing)
5 legendary fragments (get them from Level 61+ 3rd/2nd age items or above…not ilevel but the overall level).

Some ancillary stuff. The recipe, if I don’t have it, costs 400 silver (I think), but that’s chump change. I think I have a 2nd age warden sword recipe.

I’m assuming that Javelin’s are a woodcrafter thing? That’s really what I need ATM, unfortunately. :-( I forgot that they were a different crafting profession.

I have the symbols, mithril flakes, and legendary shards, FWIW.

Yep, Javelins are woodcrafters. I am working on that as well with an alt, but it’s slow…

Out of curiosity, do we have enough active 65’s that we could actually try to do some 6-man content? I know there was a group on Monday’s that played rather early (by west coast standards). I was thinking a little later, maybe 7pm PST or perhaps earlier in the day on a weekend? Even some of the 3-man content would be a lot of fun. I’ve done a lot of School/Lib runs but I’d actually like to try some of the other 3-man’s that people don’t do often like the Warg Pens.

I know it’s a long shot but it would be fun to do some grouping without having to resort to PUG’s on GLFF.

It was always $200. I bought it right at the game’s launch for $200, but then Turbine took it off the table as a sub option for a long time.

Nope, it was $300 after beta (when they offered it) with occasional sales dropping it to $200 – which is when I bought it because $300 was way too much money and $200 was just low enough to get me to impulsively buy it one day.

EDIT: WarCry Network link on the $300 pricing.

Yupp.
Still drop in occasionally on my Burglar.

Best choice ever to get that lifetime sub. Also got all the CE/Limited verisons of the original/expansion.

I was worried about the transition to F2P, but lifetime VIP and bonus points every month works out well I suppose.

Only thing I need is a bigger inventory and I’ll be happy for another few years ;)

Me and my RK are always down if you see me on. (Cindalin). I’d love to try the new instaces and some of the other 3-6 man content out there that PUGs never seem to touch. I’m in the midst of A Dance of Dragons this week but I’ll be back on by later this weekend.

I’m also usually on. Brakkis, level 65 champ. I may be on one of my alts, however (Emdal, my captain, usually).

Despite my grumblings upstream in this thread about the need to buy relic removal scrolls from Turbine’s Store, I enjoy most of the other changes made to the LI system. So that didn’t put me off from the game enough to stop playing again. Got my little hobbit burg, Pilfer, to 65, and been levelling up my warden, Meregrim, and his LIs.

By contrast, I’ve been playing since October and my highest level character is my 38 hunter. I love how f2p makes this possible.

Just out of curiosity, which quest line is that?

I spent so much time farting around the North Downs, Lone Lands and Trollshaws that my Hunter had sadly leveled past the Evendim gear for the most part. I’m hoping to avoid that with my alts some of whom are just moving into their 30’s.

My highest toon is a 43 archer…

I am trying to level my now 26 warden to 65 in time for Isengard

Working 60 hours.week I am only able to play 2-3 hours a night

I have the 25% preorder Isengard bonus and I am buying the 25% Monster XP boosts… I might go to VIP to get rest experience too…

do you think I can make it given my limited playtime? I havent ever been to Moria or any of the higher level areas so I am not familiar with the quests… that will hinder my levelling time…

my warden is a 26 Nimrodel toon in our Q23 Guild named “Delarth”… because I am power leveling my armour/gear is probably lvl 16 or so… if you have anything level 28 or higher that you can mail me please do so… anything to help with the levelling

thanks… oh yeah, it appears more XP is gained with skirmishes rather than running quests… agree?
