Your posts were dumb. Sorry (not sorry).

Dude are you being serious right now? That’s really not cool.

So I need to do some more reading up on the new LI system before I spend the ancient script that I got from appraising old LIs. Apparently it’s easy to screw up when you’re dumped into the deep end with a pot of gold and you may mis-spend it. I’m sure it’s more organic when you start up LIs at level 50 and learn the system slowly.

For example, I understand that the traceries you equip into your LIs just flat out stop working when you reach certain character levels. You have to just dump them and buy new ones. I’m not sure yet what I’m able to buy now that won’t become useless in a couple of levels or if that’s even possible…

Alas, I am only here to talk about LOTRO, not some dude {not you}

I actually hate that I built this up so much. Too late?

I’m a bit concerned you built it up this much. Are you okay?

I’m totally fine. My post was targeted only at @Daagar and no one else, following the previous huh hmmmmm

But I don’t even care now since how was talking about FXVVIIIXXXIIII, which is totally different
game.

Well I’ll just say I’m concerned that you reacted so harshly to a post clearly intended in humor and fun, and hope you’ll take a moment to think about why you reacted that way.

Anyway, I dunno if I’ll be able to play LOTRO today but I do hope to try that path to Moria soon. It’ll be nice not to feel stuck.

Back in Angmar when you hit 48 or so, you get a quest that literally directs you to talk to an Eregion Explorer and Elrond, who then point you to Glamgris in North Hollin.

This kind of thing happens all the time in LOTRO, because you play through content that is often separated by years. There is one point where you even receive a deed called “Reminder” to bridge the gap between Mirkwood and Dunland.

So pay attention!

And there’s nothing wrong with doing some overlevelled questing in Hollin. Barreling to Moria isn’t worth it. You’ll be in there a long time as it is. I fullbore sped through it here recently, and even with VIP bonuses it took nearly a week of catassing.

Hah so you say, I did NOT get that quest.

It’s one of those quest letters, I believe, that show up in your mailbox.

These are not spam.

I do not believe I’ve gotten that but I’ll have to check.

If you’re in Crickhollow you can ping Ciarell (me) for help if I’m online

Gah I’m not I’m on Arkenstone.

Gah, I’m fighting the urge to reinstall. This is all your guys’ fault!

I had a lifetime sub but I never got my main (an archer/hunter type) past level 40 or so, lol. Am I hopelessly behind? Also, is there a Qt3 guild?

Yes, there are linking / bridge quests that lead to new zones such as Eregion, but I wasn’t really talking about that. Rather it is non-obvious how to physically get to Eregion just by looking at the Trollshaws map. There isn’t a clearly marked road there. Just areas on the edge of the map marked To Eregion firmly in wilderness spaces.

And it turns there are only the two routes I mentioned, both take you off road. Go any other way and you’ll run up against a mountain wall or get lost in the woods. (both of which happened to a couple of my characters trying to find the path to Eregion).

I also remember occasionally seeing people asking in World chat how the hell to get to Eregion.

If you want to be a dick, you tell them to get there through the Valley of Giants. The route is full of enemy mobs and can be confusing as there is no discernable path. This route also puts you a ways from Glamgris where the starting area quests are.

If you want to be helpful, you tell them to follow the Bruinen south and cross the river at the Fisherman’s cabin. There will be a path there. This route puts you directly on course for Glamgris.

“Hardest” area transition in the game.

You are not hopelessly behind. You will just need to continue questing. I find the game pitifully easy in the early levels. The game now blows through content at a dizzying pace. I guess they think everyone wants to do endgame, high-level raids or some such.

My highest toon is a 73 champion. I’m currently playing one of my original characters that I started around 2007. He’s a 58 champ. He’s the only one I’ve upgraded my LIs on. What a hassle. A few guys were very helpful ingame and a couple others were jerks. Two guys grouped together and took me to Rivendell for my first upgrade. They walked me through the whole process. I have about 8 different essences (?) piling up in my backpack. I still can’t figure out how to use them. As one of the jerks advised, “Go read a guide online.” I’d rather play than spend a couple hours trying to figure out how to slightly upgrade my weapons when I’m already bashing enemies right and left! This may come back to bite me if I ever get a toon to 100 or so? I don’t know. Don’t care. Just enjoying the story now.

I wouldn’t argue with that. The connective tissue between the end of Angmar and the start of Moria is thin, indeed. SSG (then Turbine) could have at least put a “this way to Hollin” on the Trollshaws map.

And since little concern is spent on the oldest content, newbs will forever wander the SE 'Shaws.

So if I’m reading the map right, which I’m not sure I am, do I have to go south through Rivendell to get to Eregion via this river?

No. You’ll never get there from inside Rivendell.

The best route is outside of Rivendell. Go back down to the river Bruinen.

The path will go back up. You’ll know you are on the right track when you cross a log bridge.

Okay so I took some horses to Rivendell and followed the river and rode and swam a while, backtracking here and there, until I finally arrived in Gwingris. Am I on the right track?
