Oh, yeah, right, not everyone has a hunter. Sorry! I’ve only ever played two characters to even level 30, and one of them is a level 63 Hunter.

Anyone know if a latency about 120 is good enough to play with? I started a few characters on nimrodel, but can’t tell if the occasional choppiness is due to me being in Europe, or just the game.

120 is very good. I played with a ping of 6-700 from Australia with no issues.
Made it a bit tricky when maintanking in WoW though ;)

Thanks! I usually tank as a warden or guardian and was a bit worried about it, but this seems fine then :-)

Really! When did Volumes 2 and 3 happen? I may go back and do some playing. I seem to recall there’s supposed to be some big reward for completing Volume 2. Was it a Legendary Trait or something along those lines?

When they did the “Update 2” a couple of months back they did it this way. Made some of the group quests into Solo-able skirmishes among other things. Don’t know about the rewards yet for completing Vol. 2 yet, but you do get some nice things along the way for quest rewards.

I’m Jhorkund, Man, Champion on Nimrodel. Feel free to say hi or add me.

I don’t have Moria yet, but was going to go on and get the Isengard pre-order. The $50 version has the following included:

[ul]
[li]Access to the Path of the Fellowship Quest Packs including Trollshaws, Eregion, Lothlórien and Moria plus the Mirkwood Quest Pack as a special bonus[/li][/ul]
So does this allow me everything the Moria expansion does except the classes, or just some special Fellowship Quests within Moria? I’ve already purchased the Warden with points and was going to do the same with the Moria expansion unless the only thing I’d be buying in my case is the Rune Master class.

Even though I leave LOTRO every few months I always come back to it. Its still the most ‘living’ world out there in any MMO (save EVE).

As I understand it, you get all the quests in those five areas, just as if you’d purchased the individual quest packs. You wouldn’t get the runekeeper, and I’m not 100% sure how legendary items work if you don’t have the expansion enabled. I’d guess that you’d still be able to get them and level them up.

Is it at all possible to buy Moria from the LOTRO store? I can’t find it.

I bought the Box, so I could be remembering this wrong, but I think if you go to the Store and go to the Account menu there’s different menus for Expansions then Quest Packs. If they say it includes the Runekeeper and Warden then that should be the Expansion I think.

I don’t want to clog up the thread, but I just started a new character on Nimrodel and I’m completely lost. Can someone PM a couple of steps to find the rest of the Qt3ers on here?

EDIT: NEVER MIND

The problem with that is that I only see Mirkwood among the expansions. And according to another forum, Mirkwood only shows up if you’ve already bought Moria, so… Maybe I should go to Moria and see if I have it.

I haven’t bought anything from the store in awhile, so it may have changed, but as far as I know if an expansion isn’t showing up in the store it’s because you already have access to it.

Did you have a LOTRO subscription long ago, before they went F2P? If so, and you had registered a copy of Moria, either boxed or digital, then you will still have Moria as a F2P player including all content and quests (even the two additional classes). Not seeing Moria alongside Mirkwood would seem to indicate that you purchased it at some point in the past.

If you still would like a bit of help or guidance, look for me online after 9PM pacific as Cindalin and I"ll get you into the Kin or help out as I can.

Nope, I only ever had a trial subscription from the free client, however, it might have been bugged somehow because I created a warden, and now I have access to both Warden and Runekeeper without unlocking them. I suppose it’s somewhat academic, but I would like to run through Eregion to get to Moria…

I have the same question regarding Mirkwood.

I bought the $50 version this weekend. The Path of the Fellowship Quest Pack + 1000 Turbine Points made it a no-brainer. (Well, that and the fact that I paid for it using my fantasy football winnings from Paypal so it was basically free.) Am I missing anything special from the Mirkwood expansion having gained access to Mirkwood via the quest pack?

I also picked up Evendim on sale Sunday so now I only need Farochel, Misty Mountains and Angmar and I’ll have all of the quest packs.

I’ve started playing again, but I gave up on Nimrodel a while ago due to the terribly low population. I’ve been hearing rumors that it picked up some of the European accounts, so I’m holding out hope that it my be possible to find groups at a reasonable rate some day. I was planning to get my characters off of there, but they closed transfers to the big 3.

Brandywine is amazing for getting groups.

I’m torn on getting the 30 or 50 prepurchase. I don’t really need a zillion cosmetics, or the quest packs (I prefer to subscribe), but it’s such a good value ;)

The only thing you might not get going that route is the skirmishes that were part of the Mirkwood package. I could be wrong, and it would be easy enough to check by going into your skirmishes and looking for the level 65-70 ones that came with Mirkwood. The other thing you could do (having already purchased Mirkwood quest pack) is look in the LOTRO Store under skirmishes and see if Mirkwood ones show there as being available. Stuff doesn’t show up as available in the store if you already paid to unlock it on your account.

This guy is legit. Helped me out quite a few times.

I’m still on hiatus from LotRO because of multiple must-play game releases but I do plan on coming back eventually. (Hopefully)

That said, I plan on picking up the Moria expansion via the LotRO store since I can’t find the box in stores…I’d like to go that route since it comes with VIP for a month. I want to try VIP for a month (for multiple unlocks and to see how much better it is) but I can’t seem to find how to do it via the LotRO Store…
