Don’t worry, you won’t lose :P

So, we’ll plan the QT3 Madden Drinking Game for that week, then?

“First down! Take a shot!”

“Interception! Ran all the way back! CHUG!”

I had been looking forward to playing Strummer for quite some time, because I knew he was a good player and would be a find matchup. While I obviously prefer to win, the only thing that really made me hate yesterday’s game was the near constant lag we dealt with. It definitely affected both of us, though, so I can’t find any excuses for the loss there.

Ultimately I was undone by spectacularly poor tackling by pretty much every player on my defense, an early injury to Girley that dropped his stats by 20+ points (which I didn’t realize until the end of the game when I decided to sub him out to guard against a long-term injury) and several really unlucky passes where I had a wide open receiver, had a passing lane, but somehow an engaged d-lineman would leap 200 feet into the air to bat the pass down at the line of scrimmage.

That said, if the stuff I had no control over had worked out in my favor (or at least, neutral) I’m pretty sure Strummer still would have won. He called a great game and he mixed in just enough blitzes to keep me constantly guessing.

The Redskins/Cowboys game disconnected midway through the 4th quarter last night. Is it possible to extend the deadline so we can try again tonight?

fuzzyslug and I had asked just a week ago for a one day extension - we were reminded that we’re keeping a strict rollover schedule with no exceptions to the Wednesday morning progression.

It’s cool if that’s the rule. Just thought I’d ask.

I let things run a little loose the first couple weeks back after our slllooowww postseason (in part so we could sort out who was still here, etc), but overall, it’s far simpler to stick with a hard Wednesday rollover.

Results for simmed games mentioned upthread:

Cowboys 15, Redskins 14
Bills 31, Broncos 21

yeah, no biggie if we have to sim. looks like cowboys won (which they were going to anyway before we got kicked)

Looking for that elusive win, Acheng?

You’ll have to look for it again in week 8 :)

Let’s play! When are you free? Tonight is good for me (I’m on PST).

By the way, nute, I totally forgot that I have to stop by the office after hours tomorrow night and move the server before the contractor comes to install a trough and drain in the basement Friday morning. So it looks like 10:00 pm EST is probably the more likely time for me, if we wind up trying to get it in tomorrow.

I can definitely swing that, no worries.

Apparently he bounced back from that injury pretty quickly, then.

This week, he has 337 rushing yards for 6 touchdowns, plus 41 receiving yards. Holy @#$%.

Who needs Brady Quinn’s 17-for-21, 321 yard, 3 TD, no INT performance when you’ve got that in the backfield?

The Hellspawn is not to be trifled with.

He is to be tackled around the knees at every opportunity.

The Skins are definitely in a rebuilding year with a rookie QB and aging Portis, and aging o-line. I sent you a PM, I can play tonight after 9 PM, EST.

As the original player of the Redskins, I’m heartened that you’re struggling with them, too. It wasn’t just me!

Cowboys vs Eagles.

I can play weeknights between 7-11pm est or anytime Sat or Sun. Let me know when you want to play.

I didn’t realize that an injury causes a players ratings to go down. Is that only if you choose to not sub for them when prompted (i.e. let them “play hurt”) or is that for the remainder of the game - even after they are cleared to come back if you had previously chosen to sub for them?

I think it’s only when you keep them in the game after a “minor” injury. After this week’s game vs. the AI, I checked the player ratings for guys that I kept on the sideline until they were ready to come back in, and did not see any ratings dip when they returned – whereas I saw anything from -5 to -20 in multiple stats when I have kept injured players in the game. Until our game, I didn’t realize this happened… but it helped me understand why Girley just couldn’t make it to the edge!

yeah i drafted a QB and his QB-rated stats are comparable to Jason Campbell (who stinks). So we’re having a rough go at it on offense.

Oh boy. Time to look up the legal definition of “fightin’ words”, I can practically see Bowyer’s rage meter rising from here…
