Due to illness in the frop bog, we’ll hold off on the rollover until your Dashingly Handsome Commissioner gets back from his kickball league double-header tonight.

Kick ball, Dungeons and Dragons, Video games. Wrasslin’ fan.

Nute is the 13 year old me.

He probably knows at least a dozen ways to kill a man, though.

Hah! At 13, I… didn’t have a video game console, wasn’t allowed to watch much TV, and my sole athletic pursuit was soccer. 13 year old me sucked.

And they all start with “Roscoe Parrish receives the kickoff…”

Exactly like a 13 year old me…

Looks like jpinard’s not going to make it on in time for his game - going to roll the league forward, then.

Time for the Fins to get back on the horse, then: It’s Broncos time.

So I’m looking at the AFC East playoff picture. At the beginning of week 13, it’s:

Buffalo: 7-4 (4-0 division)
New England: 6-5 (1-1 division)
Miami: 6-5 (1-3 division)
New York: 5-6 (1-3 division)

Jets won their game against the Eagles this week, going to 6-6. Their schedule from here: Denver, New England, Miami, Oakland.

Patriots face: Buffalo, Miami, Jets, Buffalo, Dallas.

Bills face: New England, San Diego, Indianapolis, New England, Denver.

Dolphins face: Denver, New England, KC, Jets, Giants.

Oh god, this is the closest divisional race in HISTORY.

So for the Jets to win the division…

  1. We need to win our next four games to go 10-6.
  2. We have to beat Miami. If they go 4-1, we’ll have them on tiebreakers if we win out.
  3. New England must split their games with the Bills and lose to either Miami or Dallas.
  4. Buffalo has to split with the Patriots and lose at least two of the Colts/Broncos/Chargers games to go 9-7. If they go 10-6, they hold the division by tiebreakers.

The important thing is that NE/BUF have to split their games 1-1. If Buffalo wins both, they need to lose the other three to be 9-7, and I don’t think the Broncos have a chance to knock them off. if New England wins both, then they have to lose to Dallas - and I don’t think the Cowboys can take out the Patriots.

White-knuckle time in the AFC East! Every game is a playoff game!

The Bills lost their last game 52-3. Let’s just say they aren’t much of a team without Eric at the helm.

Childan, I am gone for the weekend, will be around at earliest Sunday evening. But Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (before we roll) are wide open.

Let’s do Monday evening, say around 8 PM EST (I’m flexible that evening if that time doesn’t work for you). I’m moving starting Tuesday and my xbox will be out of commission for a while, so Monday’s my best time. Let me know.

Sounds good. Cya Monday at 8.

Shootout in the Mile High City! Further details to come, but the Dolphins outlasted the Broncos in a high-scoring matchup wherein the Broncos never led, but were always threatening. Ultimately, it came down to a Dan Carpenter field goal to send the Dolphins to a 45-42 victory.

That said, it wouldn’t have been as close if not for some key turnovers, like Champ Bailey picking off Henne’s pass to Anthony Fasano in the Red Zone, and rambling something like 98 yards the other direction. Or [other Bronco whose name I’m blanking on] picking up a fumble and running it back.

Really, Champ Bailey was the guy the game turned on. Not only did he pick up a couple interceptions, but he held Brandon Marshall in check for much of the game. But Bailey did go down for a couple possessions, getting banged up on some slot plays, and whoever they substituted just couldn’t keep up with Brandon, who finished with something like 187 yards and 4 TDs.

That’s four times the TDs Anthony Fasano hauled in, but Anthony led the team with something like 218 receiving yards.

Henne tossed up 5 INTs to go along with his 5 TDs, and threw for well over 500, possibly even 600, yards.

The running game wasn’t much to write home about, and Denver proved adept at forcing fumbles, so we mostly stayed away from that.

Also, it was really windy, like 17 MPH crosswind windy.

Vikings / Bears Round 2 was good. Jay Cutler put the ball up 42 times for nearly 300 yards, but it wasn’t enough to catch the ADP led Vikings. Final Score: 24-17. Vikings QB You had an efficient game and did most of his damage in the first half.

Many many players went out with injuries, but no one was hurt beyond this week.

Holy shite… 5 TDs and 5 INTs? Damn, that was an action packed game.

We are intent on turning Henne into the foremost gunslinger of his generation.

Unfortunately, we gave him a football instead of a gun.

Panthers 24, Falcons 21. In an extremely close game, the Panthers held on to finally take a win off the undefeated Falcons.

First quarter, Falcons went three and out with some tight coverage from the Panther corners. The cardiac cats went right back down the field with some strong running from Deangelo Williams, but were held to a fg (I was not letting Ben throw an interception this game).

Second quarter, Xaroc responded quickly, with a sixty yard run by Michael Turner which set up a an acrobatic TD catch by Mclain. Falcons 7-Panthers 3.
The remainder of the half consisted of RB fumbles, with the Panthers getting to the red zone with DeAngelo fumbling and the Falcons recovering, and then Turner doing the exact same thing in the Panthers red zone with the Panthers recovering. After the recovery, the Big Ben lead a 2 minute drill to try and get into FG range, but Coker missed the 44 yarder. Half time: Falcons 7-Panthers 3

Third quarter, a combination of runs by DeAngelo (who fumbled again, but the panthers recovered), screens, and passes to Munchie Kosch (HE"S BACK) gave the Panthers another TD, while running the clock down. 10-7, Panthers going into the fourth.

Fourth quarter began with a lack of offense for both sides. Ryan threw a pick to John Beason (I think near the red zone), but the Panthers couldn’t do anything to convert. On the first play after receiving the punt though, Ryan threw a pick six, which put the Cats up 17-7. The Falcons came back quickly, throwing a beautiful deep pass to Roddy White on a streak route, which lead to a Gonzalez TD. Panthers 17-Falcons 14.

With time running out (1:42 on the clock), the Falcons opted for the on-side but failed to recover. Using only two timeouts, the Falcons put the Panthers in a 3 and 1 situation without much time being taken off the clock. The Cats called a screen, Falcons called an anti-screen blitz, but the Cats got lucky and Deangelo ran his way down the field for a 40 yard score. Panthers 24-Falcons 14.

Yet the football gods weren’t done with this game yet, no they were not. Perhaps for running up the score on the Lions, or for trading for a QB with questionable character (though when has that ever held the Panthers back?), the Panthers committed two pass interference penalties in a row on deep passes to the Falcon receivers. This lead to a quick TD pass by Ryan, leaving 54 seconds on the clock and the Falcons only being down by three.

Falcon’s go for the on-side, Panthers recover (my fifth string receiver recovered both those on-sides!), and Big Ben ended his first game in weeks without throwing an interception.

Really close game, and lady luck swung my way a little bit more this time. When the Falcon offense is clicking though, they are pretty much impossible to stop. Xaroc was literally a step off two or three passes that would have swung the game entirely in his favor.

Hopefully we will both make the playoffs, and as I am looking forward to another game. I still don’t have enough posts to put up links for video highlights, but Xaroc may have some if anyone wants.

In fuzzyslug parlance Childan killed me. ;)

In reality Childan had a good gameplan and executed well and committed no forced turnovers. I threw two ints that were all on me and my receivers were kind of drop happy. All in all though a good game overall. I look forward to a potential meeting three in the playoffs.

Bam, down goes the king!

Nice one Childan.
