Two weeks until the Superbowl. I may forget how to play the game by then.

So our super bowl is just as long a wait as normal one. The realism in this league is just fantasic!

Wait until you see the halftime show. I won’t say which one of us is going to bare a nipple.

Two weeks…that’s a lot of time throw down bets.

This would be a game I’d really like to watch. Clash of the Titans! Match for the Ages! Come one, come all, see Gridiron Might like none Before!

I’m going to have learn Xaroc here, but it’s a close one. Hard to tell when both of these guys have beat me much more than I have beat them over the years of virtual football.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but fuzzy has the better team (I would argue the best) and I have few if any matchup advantages. I barely squeaked by the 9ers who are a good team (but not the Ravens) with a very good owner. Not pulling a fuzzy and saying I have no chance but it will be an uphill battle to say the least.

Heh, that reminds me. My son (8) has really been getting into Madden as of late. Got his own franchise all of that. He chose the Falcons after I gave him some suggestions of the better teams in the league, including the Ravens.

Know his favorite play? Hail Mary. Know how often he connect with Rhoddy White? FAR TOO OFTEN. I have seem him double and triple covered and he will still come down with the ball. That virtual man is insane.

Might be a matchup problem for him there… ;)

I’m looking forward to a good game.

We played Ravens v Falcons before the season and I won by about a TD. On the other hand, Xaroc beat me in the fantasy league and just beat the guy who knocked me out of the playoffs last season (Cubit, thanks for switching conferences!). Xaroc’s a great player, which he’s proven in both leagues this season.

It should be fun game.

But you have the better pep talks, I’m sure.

Yeah, again, I really wish that Madden let me spectate. I can’t say I’d use it much, but it sure would be fun to be in a live party and watching the game unfold. Why won’t you love us, Madden!

You won by a TD even having a 0-3 turnover disadvantage so if you don’t turn it over you probably win by like 3 or 4 scores. That was also with updated rosters with the Falcons corners not blowing goats.

Fantasy league means nothing in the grand scheme of things I beat Broadway relatively easily in both games there because his team for whatever reason was not as good as it’s ratings and I have a crazy defense in that league. I just barely got by the 9ers. That game could have gone either way.

Good lord, this is the lamest trash talk for a championship game ever.

“You will win!”
“No I won’t, I suck. You will”.
“I love you”
“I lo… wait, what?!?”

I want to see things like:

“Roddy White is going to make the Ravens secondary look like Fuzzy’s face!”

or

“Good luck with Turner running his slow ass up the gut on my front 7, mother effer!”

hellens makes a good point.

Want to make sure my comment is taken in the lighthearted “make fun of my friends” type of way, which is my intention. Because I certainly have plenty about myself that is way too easy to rip on…

This IS a sports thread, even if it’s a virtual sports thread. We need more trash talking. And it’s always in good jest.

I am not a trash talker by nature. I am more of a Joe Gibbs type when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Superbowl is set for 8pm EST tonight.

I suggest we all join the party and heckle.

Maybe since these two are such nice guys, we should assign a heckler for each side. And maybe a mascot to kick around or something.

Raven win the Super Bowl over the Falcons 30-28 in a game worthy of the Super Bowl name.

Unfortunately, I’ve already run the week. I forgot it would wipe out the 2010 statistics. Let’s see what I can remember.

It started with a three and out by the Falcons followed by a medium length drive by the Ravens. On third and long, Xaroc called a blitz from the left. I threw to the guy his blitzer was covering, right to a guy who settled into the zone. Pick 6. 0-7 Falcons.

The Ravens were able to stop the Falcons for a couple of drives and followed those stops with long drives that ended with two field goals. 6-7 Falcons

The Falcons got together a nice drive to end the half, grabbing yardage in chunks through the air and an nicely timed run. 6-14 Falcons at the half.

Not long after the start of the second half, the play of the game happened when a safety ignored Anquan Boldin cutting across the field. A long bomb for a touchdown that pulled the score close to even. 13-14 Falcons

I’m a little hazy about the third (how many possessions there were) but and interception by the Ravens around the 50 was followed by a scoring drive to make it 20-14 Ravens.

After a lag induced bad punt by the Falcons, I followed up with a field goal to make it 23-14 Ravens.

The Falcons hung tough, though, scoring another touchdown on offense to make it 23-21 Ravens.

With just a couple of minutes left in the 4th quarter, a final scoring drive by the Ravens made it 30-21 Ravens.

Three or four plays later, the Falcons visited the end-zone again to make it 30-28 Ravens. However, only a minute remained and all their timeouts were gone.

An onside kick recovery later, the Ravens sat on the ball to end the game.

That was the best game I was a part of all season. My nerves were on edge the whole time. Xaroc is a great player and great sport.

Now, who’s in for season 3?

Damnit, Xaroc, way to fail.

fuzzy: Seeing how it’s July already, a third season probably isn’t a good idea. Best to just hold off till Madden '12.
