Raven win the Super Bowl over the Falcons 30-28 in a game worthy of the Super Bowl name.
Unfortunately, I’ve already run the week. I forgot it would wipe out the 2010 statistics. Let’s see what I can remember.
It started with a three and out by the Falcons followed by a medium length drive by the Ravens. On third and long, Xaroc called a blitz from the left. I threw to the guy his blitzer was covering, right to a guy who settled into the zone. Pick 6. 0-7 Falcons.
The Ravens were able to stop the Falcons for a couple of drives and followed those stops with long drives that ended with two field goals. 6-7 Falcons
The Falcons got together a nice drive to end the half, grabbing yardage in chunks through the air and an nicely timed run. 6-14 Falcons at the half.
Not long after the start of the second half, the play of the game happened when a safety ignored Anquan Boldin cutting across the field. A long bomb for a touchdown that pulled the score close to even. 13-14 Falcons
I’m a little hazy about the third (how many possessions there were) but and interception by the Ravens around the 50 was followed by a scoring drive to make it 20-14 Ravens.
After a lag induced bad punt by the Falcons, I followed up with a field goal to make it 23-14 Ravens.
The Falcons hung tough, though, scoring another touchdown on offense to make it 23-21 Ravens.
With just a couple of minutes left in the 4th quarter, a final scoring drive by the Ravens made it 30-21 Ravens.
Three or four plays later, the Falcons visited the end-zone again to make it 30-28 Ravens. However, only a minute remained and all their timeouts were gone.
An onside kick recovery later, the Ravens sat on the ball to end the game.
That was the best game I was a part of all season. My nerves were on edge the whole time. Xaroc is a great player and great sport.
Now, who’s in for season 3?
