I escaped by the skin of my teeth against the AI. I consider myself lucky to have won that first game.

Omni, good game! Sorry I dropped out there while we were talking. Wind caused a power flicker and the Xbox got turned off. Seemed like you were AFK when I got it back on.

What a messy game I played tonight. I thought I’d come up with a brilliant new running scheme only to have it thrown in my face. I couldn’t gain more than a single yard at a time, even late in the 4th quarter. So to control the ball I had to pass. 8 rushes for a maximum long of 1 yard. Yech… Peyton also threw a whale of an INT - a 95-yarder.
The Bengals were very odd on defense. The CB’s were either intercepting throws to my top receivers, or totally blowing their coverage (same DB’s). Must be an aggressiveness setting or something.
I think jpinard is on a mission to have Manning be the first QB to throw for over 8000 yards in one season. Good god man.

Well look at my running game. It’s hard to fathom it could possibly be WORSE than last season… and yet it is:
Devin Moore HB Colts 13 (ATT) 14 (YRDS) 1.1 (YPC) 0 (TD)
My star running back! LOL
haha, and you even have switched playbooks, right?
You want to talk lousy running playbooks, let’s talk New England.

Yea, I did. What’s even more embarassing is many of those 0-yard run plays were against a prevent defense.

@Vegas, when do you want to play our game? I am free this evening, Thursday evening, or the afternoon on Friday. I can’t PM on here yet, but I can receive them.
Also, that pic of Jimmy Clausen makes me fearful for the Panther’s season next year.
Devin Moore is definitely a feast or famine type of running back. So fast and so small. Doesn’t seem to be the guy to get too many yards after the first hit.
Childan, I’ll look for you tonight.
It sounds to me like the pats don’t need jamaal! Do they want to discuss a trade? :)
lubbarlubab, once the Nute gets back to me on when he wants his beating, we can see about finalizing that trade.
I’d be amazed if you had anything to offer me, Mr. Fire Sale.
Jamaal did have 20 carries for 126 yards, most of those coming late as we ran the clock out. No fiftyburger for me.
Nute’s got gaming tonight, but should be available after about 9:00pm Central to receive his “beating”.
That works. I should be on so just drop me a line when you are free.

Sounds good Vegas, I’ll be on sometime after 8 PM EST time. I have roommates who also use my xbox, so if I’m on before then it’s probably not me.

So, a quick recap of the Dolphins v. Bills game which was close for the first 3 quarters, but fell apart a bit in the 4th. Highlights are on the website, because I’m not sure how to link them.
The game opened up with a methodical drive by the Bills and was capped off by a TD reception by the newly acquired Roy Williams. On the ensuing drive, Dre Bly made a one handed interception that he returned for a TD. Bills 14 - 0. The momentum began to shift towards the Dolphins when Henne hit Marshall for a 55 yard TD pass. Curses! It continued to shift when Henne hit Marshall again for a 4 yard TD pass to begin the 2nd quarter. However, the Bills finally responded with a score of their own. Nate “Who am I” Davis to CJ “Holy shit I’m Fast” Spiller for a 1 yard TD pass. Miami responded with a FG at the end of the 2nd. 21 - 17 Bills.
The second half was all Bills, however. Third quarter scoring was opened up by the Bills new rookie sensation Deshun “They Call Me Trifecta” Ivory who sacked Henne causing a fumble, then quickly recovered to pick up the fumble and return it 48 yards for the TD. That was the only action scoring-wise in the third. In the 4th, CJ “The Flash” Spiller took over. He had TD runs of 4, 87, and 8 yards. Nate Davis added a TD pass to TE Shawn Nelson. There were a ton of turn overs in this quarter, though.
It was a pretty even game until the turn overs started. The Bills threw 1 INT and lost one fumble, the Dolphins had 6 INT, and lost one fumble. It was a pretty good game, and some of the unorthodox subs I’ve been using are working out. I have a TE in as my FB, a LT as my RT, and slotted by second best WR into the slot position instead of the 2nd WR. However, I lost Lee Evans for 4 weeks, so that may screw me up a bit depth chart wise.
The stats make Nate Davis look remarkably not Nate Davis-like. Who’d you put in as a ringer?

Look at his first week stats. It is definitely Nate.

Trade Talk:
Michael Vick clone: Pat White. Pat is better than Vick in almost all facets. His ball carrying is nearly twice as good. He’s faster and more agile, he can throw better on the run, and his accuracy on most throws is also superior to Vick. Unlike Vick he is NOT prone to injury and has amazing endurance.
I’m looking for a good Defensive Tackle. I will trade you one of my second string DE’s or DT’s in addition to Pat White if interested. I’d maybe consider a similar Linebacker or Offensive Lineman trade as well and would trade out whatever is necessary (2 of mine for 1 of yours).

note: the plain “throw accuracy” is only used for simmed games, so if you plan on playing all the games yourself you can effectively ignore that rating.

God, I threw my controller a few times that game, it was definitely a “no effing way” game. They’d come out of nowhere for an INT, knock Cutler out so I had to use Hanie, and magically close any rushing lane within nanoseconds. If it weren’t for Hester with his 2nd KO return in two games… it’d have been ugly.
We were tied with about 1:20 to go, and Knowshon was in super truck mode grinding out 8 yds a pop and the clock winding down. So I let him score since I couldn’t stop anything, and came back with a 78 yd TD pass to Hester and send it into OT. Had a 4th and 5 at the 50, and decided to punt, which was stupid because Orton became Montana and marched down the field in no time…
