I’ll be selling a Dreamcast bundle as soon as the PSOne bundle is shipped to the high bid. Won’t be nearly as big, and I am keeping one of my Dreamcasts for playing Tech Romancer.

Wow. That’s quite a collection. Just out of curiosity. Why are selling them? It would seem to me they don’t take up a whole lot of space and that’s a nice library of quality you’ve got.

$20 and a can of spam!

— Alan

150$
Already got the PS1 and don’t think I’ve played with it since the invention of the next-gen consoles but what the hell eh?

$150 for that collection is an insult.

–Dave

As if $20 and a can of spam isn’t!
Of course I do indeed get the feeling his offer was said with a bit of sarcasm where as my wasn’t, but eh whatta gonna do? :)

I’m not sure if it will get more than that on eBay though.

Haha, 120. Im just getting rid of them because I am not playing them. I figure someone else can play them with me raking in some cash. Plus im working a lot of retail these days and the cash would be nice. Im certainly hoping to get more than 120 dollars for my collection :(

You’ll get much better results if you sell items individually. Generally speaking, when you sell bundled items (eg, a single auction for PS2 with 5 games) you will get less money than if you sold it all via individual auctions.

It’s more of a pain riding herd on 40+ auction returns, but if maximum cash return is your goal, bundling is a bad idea.

It’s a good idea right now as the rare-er titles provide the backbone of the collection, with the easier to find games fleshing it out. By selling seperately Ill probably only sell certain ones for any real profit, the easier to find ones ill either have to pull or let go for way too little.

Just gotta set the min bid high and wait for a fish to bite. I saw a smaller collection go for 800, only difference being that he had a bunch of strat guides for his 40+ games.

Minimum bid is probably OK, if the minimum is reasonably exciting (eg, low). Reserve is definitely counter-productive in my opinion. If you want the maximum bidding frenzy, always set no reserve and no-- or very low-- minimum bid.

Have faith in the system. The stupidest person (or, if you’re a glass half full kind of guy/gal, the “most optimistic” person) always wins an auction.

Yes, Jim, it’s right up there with the Norton Anthology.

You make me sick, you big PC hater.

-Vede

I can’t beleive you’re selling it. You are such a whore!

Should get over 500 at least for that set… i mean half those games are above average… at least worth 5-10 dollars each. Maybe sell more if you sold by genre? like psx rpg collection (you seem to have a lot of em) … my friend sold more that way with his comic collection (spiderman/xman/wolverine collections) than another friend who sold his snes/saturn collection wholesale. Unless you’d rather just make it one big selloff.

etc

How can you sell Parappa?

I realize you’re not playing them anymore…but will you never want to play these again? That’s one incredible collection.

I’ve probably said it before, but my biggest mistake was spending a number of years trading games for newer games. I ended up buying a lot of them back again later or lamenting ever getting rid of them. :(

–Dave

Hehe. I never trade, unless it is a complete loser. I go back and play Ramparts, Vs. tennis, and Super Dodgeball now and again. I would hate to think I would get rid of one which may be a classic one day. I did this with some comics and now I have a box full of Micronauts flavored packing material.

So did you sell it? Where is the link to the auction?

I haven’t sold it yet, just getting all the documentation ready for the auction. It wont be up till the day before thanksgiving.

Too bad your bundling those there’s about five I’d pay 20 bucks a pop for. Especially “ogre battle tactics”? I love the series and I can’t seem to find the game anywhere.
