Mainstream media has 1) become more monopolized with the loss of local/state papers. Many local/state papers are now part of the USA network. 2) many veteran print reporters took buyouts and the cynical reporter is a thing of the past. 3) The big dailies WAPO/NYT still set the national narrative that dominates nightly news twitter etc.

But those factors put the media in an isolated bubble where they clearly don’t pick up/represent talk to much of the country leading to huge surprises. The mainstream media is by and for the monied/intellectual elite and portrays narratives that they want to hear.

I’m not sure how this bubble is fixed but the current media biz model is going to continually paint a distorted and dishonest picture of what’s going on in the country.

He’s suggesting that you need to address the concerns of those 70 million voters.

And really…i don’t think that’s at odds with the girls of the democratic party anyway.

The stuff we already talked about, like an extensive infrastructure plan… Does exactly that. That kind of stuff addresses their concerns, and it’s how you will win a resounding victory in 2022.

That’s your argument all the time, right? That those folks will actually support your policies, they just don’t like the phrasing? So you just need to execute on the plan.
